About

Harrogate Climbing Centre opened in early February 2010. The centre boasts 66 climbing lines as well as a bouldering room. We also have a Rock Shop operated by our own experienced retail staff as well as a cafe run by Harrogate favourite Indulge.

Mission

To be Yorkshire's premier climbing venue. Our ethos is to be inclusive, making climbing accessible to all.

Expensive for kids which is disappointing. To take my 3 year old to try a short climbing session it was £16. For comparison, at Leeds depot she was recently admitted for free. This centre should be ashamed to charge so much for pre schoolers. Staff didn’t tell me, but it turns out a months family membership is very cost effective if you go more than once and climb yourself too. Great tip from another parent Climbs were friendly enough for a kid and staff seem nice. I didn’t climb, so couldn’t comment on this. Nice looking coffee shop with kids toy area next door.
My 8 year old really enjoyed his session. The instructor was very informative giving clear instructions & put any doubts at ease allowing him to push himself to do a little better & go a little highter. Would highly recommend
My almost 5 year old has been coming for a year to the wild climbers sessions and absolutely loves it. The instructors are brilliant with the children and it's extremely good value for the tuition time and ratio of children to instructor. We just had her party today and everyone had a wonderful time, from the most adventurous to the most timid. Ryan and Holly, the instructors today made it a very memorable experience. The café and the manager there were great too so the kids had a wonderful feast all for a reasonable price. Hats off to the whole team here - they have perfected the balance between friendliness and professionalism.
My son had a wonderful time at the rock walls. Anthony was such a patient instructor. Coming back tomorrow for another session !
Sam was great today, making the Wild Climbers session great fun for everyone involved. The girls are excited to do more climbing now!
Me and my friends had an amazing time at this gym, where the staff got us checked in promptly and made sure we were going on a suitable course! Any climbing shoes needed were provided and the bouldering course has different difficulty lines, colour-coded from low to high. We all really enjoyed the course, climbing all over the lines and feeling high energy!
Had a great time climbing! Friendly staff and some good climbing routes. Will definitely come back again!

A newbie to the world of climbing, after a tourist climb adventure in Gran Canaria, always thought climbing was an odd sport, and erm now I'm hooked. So I have recently attended a private tuition session, before I move to Scotland to commence an outdoor activity instructor course!. The facilities at Harrogate are brilliant, cafe is wonderful and the equipment, climbing areas and staff are excellent, my instructor Lee Dart was very patient with me, asked me what my goals were and was happy to start me on rope work, knots and belaying.. A brilliant session, with a two others was most useful. Lee taught at a great pace, was reassuring, and he gave notes and feedback for improved skills. His teaching style is brilliant and so useful to me. Lee has a great sense of humour, is very encouraging and helped with a challenge game that we all found useful and fun. Thanks, team, for your expertise, patience, and encouragement. You do a cracking job and have installed a passion in me for climbing!! Absolutely life changing. Cheers PP.
In my experience it was amazing , some tricky parts but it was tremendous all the way through. The climbing teacher was friendly, encouraging and helpful. Seth, age 11
