Have had two excellent experiences of this pub over Christmas. The food is excellent. One of the party had a mixed grill, the best one ever, anywhere. All staff are really pleasant and friendly. The music is really good, younger members of the party, mid-twenties, really enjoyed the vibe.
Four of us went for a meal last night. There doesn’t appear to be enough staff to cater for the clientele. After waiting for ages we had to call someone over to take our order. Two of us had a steak meal, the meat was tough and not warm enough. When we asked for a dessert menu there was hardly any choice and what there was was £6.95 each! The staff that were on were ok but rushed off their feet. With more staff and better management the customers would have better experience.
Just visited for meal with my wife as thought would be nice quiet family friendly pub!! How wrong i was!!.what looked like part of rugby team locals in there very loud and filthy mouths with not a care with who was in there,i think they liked the sound of there own voices... I thought the staff could have told them to tone it down.
Food was really good. The service was terrible, we had a table booked for 5pm when booking we asked to be in restaurant not the bar, arrived and we were seated in the bar, ordered food straight away , wasn't busy then but food took an hour, children and a dog running round the bar, 3 staff on a break at once , the pub got quite busy and was very chaotic, nobody seemed to know what they were doing ,we were just left alone ,nobody came to clear the table until we asked and we asked 3 times for pudding menu, eventually we got pudding but by this time it was nearly 7pm, one waitress, Melissa came to check we were ok and apologised for everything and said they would try to improve and hoped we would return but things would have to improve a lot for us to return
Not good. Poor service. Part of food was cold. The veg looked like leftovers. They had run out of some food stuffs but it was Boxing Day. Wont be going again. I feel the worst thing they did was serve the small child last Not very nice.
Great pub, with friendly staff and a great menu serving great grub. Highly recommendedService: 5/5
We are so fortunate to have this place just a few minutes' drive away from home. The atmosphere is chill and you are made to feel more than welcome nothing is too much trouble from last-minute food bookings to walk-ins for the B&B the staff know how to make you feel part of the community. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. The food was excellent and this cosy little place most definitely gives other local eating places a run for their money the price was more than reasonable for two of us for three courses and five drinks £60 This cosy Pub has left the best impression! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, and more than enough with each serving & beautiful presentation. If you haven’t been then you are missing out! because this place and the food are well worth the visit.
Stayed here for three days. Friendly, clean but a bit chaotic with a 'Fawlty Towers' vibe. Each morning breakfast was different, sometimes juice sometimes squash, misding mugs or glasses, different amounts of food. Felt like they got random locals to sort breakfast each day! Evening food was great and well presented. Bit short of in room drinks & loo roll. No phone signal inside old stone building, but everything worked, wifi was good. Nothing upsetus, it just all felt a bit chaotic, but the friendliness of staff and other guests made up for that.
Nice little pub called for a drink here as it was just along the road from where we were staying. Staff friendly
Buitifull place. Only stayed one night as working away. Nice clean and a warm welcome, i had 6oz steak and black pudding in batter for starter. It was very nice. My room was pristine. Lovely and clean well presented. Room 1. Will defo stay there again
