We've been a couple of time to Hardwick Parks, we always enjoy ourselves but there's just a few things to bear in mind. The staff are overall friendly and helpful. There is Motorcross and Banger racing on Sundays and BH Mondays, so if you're hoping for peace and quiet, you won't get it. The toilet, shower & washing up facilities are basic, but clean and serve the purpose. There is no shop, the bar is open sporadically so you just have to adapt. The water sports are expensive but very fun. There are some nice walks around the lake and places to picnic. It's very good for families, lots of kids around and overall a pleasant atmosphere. There's a Lidl 5 minutes away in the car and plenty of day trips to be had in the area.
This is lovely campsite, on the pricey side but worth every penny in my opinion. I've only ever camped non EHU here been 4 times so far..., big open space where you can chose your own pitch. Pub/restaurant on site so you don't have to cook if you don't want to. Showers & toilets are kept clean & there are plenty so I've never had to wait! This site has the added bonus of the lake which you can swim in - word of warning to anyone going, take plenty of bug spray, afterbite & citronella candles! The mozzies here are ferocious!!
Beautiful lake for water sports, swimming, fishing etc. Scenery is lovely, great atmosphere. Brilliant for yong people, couples and families. The restaurant and bar offers fun and lively entertainment with great, attentive and friendly staff. We enjoy it, its very popular with the locals.
It's not perfect but that's down to the people who broke the rules by playing music into the quiet time but staff was quick to sort it out. The same when someone had an open fire, staff are quick to solve issues. Plenty of facilities. Electric ports if wanted. The lake is wonderful to have a relaxing dip and the water sports are excellent fun! Recommended for a lovely camping weekend holiday for the family.
Great campsite, Lake is beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Nice bar/pub and helpful staff. Dog friendly, clean and tidy toilets/shower blocks, playground next to pub area.
We had a wonderful time here for a few days with friends. The facilities are clean and the water for washing up etc. was nicely hot. The showers are awesome. Children and adults swam in the lake. The water sports were also very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. I was told they also have laundry facilities and can freeze your ice blocks if needed but I didn't use those particular facilities. Would definitely recommend.
We love coming here and have been coming for a few years. However the WiFi hasn't been working for months!! We've asked at reception and we were told there was a part arriving. 4 months later and there's still no WiFi. If you have small children would definitely advise downloading stuff before you come for them to watch in the evenings. We absolutely love the lakes and the site is overall very tidy.
1st time visiting this site, its OK, spent 5 nights. Not our usual choice of site as usually go to caravan club sites.its quite expensive in comparison to club sites Would visit again but out of school holidays, very noisy and although there are signs saying no ball games these were ignored resulting in 5 a side football every night and our car and caravan being hit by the ball constantly the wardens are located on site but didn't do anything about this. if you want a quiet break this isn't the place for you, on the plus side the lake walk is lovely expecially if you have a dog
Disappointing now, not as good as it use to be, camp shop gone, charges for using own paddle board on lake, bar/restaurant seems unsupervised. 3/4 behind the bar, twice that in the kitchen and 1 person out running around serving and clearing.
This was our 5th camping trip as a family and the best so far. Beautiful location with lake and water sports on sight. Clean, tidy facilities and site. Highly recommended.
