I would really recommend harbour lights for a special occasion. We visited harbour lights for my Nan’s 90th birthday. The staff were great we were greeted and shown to our table offered drinks, offered individual wooden spoons to allow us to split the bill rather than one massive bill which was great and prevented that annoying split the bill scenario at the end of the meal. We decorated the table and bought our own balloons, flowers and birthday cake. We all ordered our food either off the menu or Carvery. The staff offered to advise when food off the menu would be coming out so we could all eat together which was great. No complaints for the food, really lovely, hot and served quickly. Staff clearly the table quickly after we had finished eating. We were provided with a knife to cut our cake and plates and cutlery to eat. Really lovely experience had by all.
Booked for father's day and had the roast dinner for £14.95. I was really disappointed only one choice of meat offered so I chose Turkey and by the looks of it ended up with the last scrappings. No proper slice and the vegetables were hard. Certainly not good quality or value for money. Sadly I've had better at a Toby carvery. Other than a disappointing meal staff are pleasant and the view's are beautiful.
Lovely lunch at this restaurant overlooking the marina. Food excellent and staff friendly and helpful. Steak burger certainly had the wow factor. Parking: Easy parking
I liked the location and they staff seemed really nice. The food was average but I little better presents than it tasted. Overall I thought it was farely cheap too. They have a carvery! Which was ok although the plate smaller than a dinner plate but larger than a saucer. Good views! I think it will be nice in the summer.
Welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. Menu is vast and carvery also served we eat here frequently and have always had a fantastic meal. Reasonable prices and staff are friendly and helpful.
We took my dad there for Father's Day. Room for improvement but guess national staffing problems really an issue as it's a bit of the beaten track. Front of house staff excellent. The roast beef was rather well done. Apparently the vegetable curry was good. Personally I think this place needs a whole new set up to make it more of a "destination". Maybe selling local crafts with a smaller restaurant etc. It's such a beautiful setting!
Very short staffed , we had to wait a while to be served at the carvery, The staff that were there were very helpful and nice. Meat was very dry, and the veggie dish was frozen inside. We had to send it back, it was replaced with another one that was hot and edible.
We were told the Carvery was ready by the under manager, when we got there, there was no meat apart from beef and gammon scraps which were really dry. There was no turkey whatsoever and when I spoke to the lady serving, I said you can't expect us to eat dry scraps and she said "you should've booked earlier" this was 2:15pm! Which I found really rude..
Obviously struggling to recruit staff. Still a fantastic location for an evening drink. If they focused on a couple of dishes and did them well it would make a difference.
We have had some bad experiences with food in the restaurant, from food being undercooked to 2 hour wait for food, even though the restaurant was more than half empty. So we now just got for the views over the harbour. which are fabulous and have a few drinks. We went there yesterday, and wanted to order a few bar snacks, but was told that the chef had gone home ill. Not anyone fault really, but still disappointing.
