Fantastic atmosphere, great service, awesome food! Located on a nice pedestrian only area lined with beautiful trees. The pizza made in the wood burning oven was very tasty and the dough is crunchy on the outside while soft on the inside. The wings Italian style were really good. The garlic/parmesan coating tasted fantastic. Didn’t even need a sauce to go with them. The only weird part is that they’re priced MP market price. I’ve seen that for seafood, but never for chicken wings. Next time I will definitely try their famous burgers.
Food is always great as usual. Service is a hit or miss. Last night we got the big nacho platter and 12 chicken wings, half parmigiana cheese and the other half mild Buffalo. Both were amazing. Seated and served quick. When you’re a regular like my parents, they take real good care of you.
Great food. Attentive servers. Nice atmosphere. Not even very expensive. I thought it was actually pretty cheap for the huge portions they gave us. Me and my wife split nachos and we're basically full. But then split a house garbage plate and each had sodas and a dessert each. For $60. Fast food is almost that much! We will definitely be back. Sooner than later hopefully!
Great food excellent service! We arrived around 2pm and there was a wait but the restaurant was half full. The problem was short of wait staff etc. But we walked to flea market and toured surrounding area. The food was worth the wait. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the restroom was very clean. Definitely recommend stopping for lunch or dinner. They have outdoor seating with umbrella’s but the wait is generally longer.
First time here and will not be the last!! Stacy, our waitress, was super friendly and gave us a quick run down of the menu and the food was too good. We had the chicken fingers hand breaded, so crispy, juicy real chicken breast a south wedge pizza so cheesy, wood fired and a burger juicy! Seasoned perfectly! Cooked to perfection. Will definitely return next time I'm in town.
We were staying at School Loft 31 and went to the Gate House for lunch. They were busy so we had to wait but they have cool way to page you. They will text you when your table is ready. It gave us the freedom to walk around the area and take in the sights. After we got seated, we were waited on promptly. We ordered an appetizer which was delicious, Artichoke Dip!! My mixed drink was perfect! Our main meal came out which was very tasty. My only complaint was that the pasta salad was very dry. Luckily I had the blue cheese fondue to dip my noodles in. Otherwise I would have just thrown it away. The menu is a bit on the pricey side so you expect things to be more top notch. Our waitress was great. I think her name was Christie???
Although wait was over an hour, food was very good, you can definitely get good pizza for reasonable price. My friends had burgers and they also enjoyed it. Unfortunately, due to busy hour, we waited long time for a table and for food, I recommend to make reservations ahead to avoid it.
Online menu said had fish and chips in restaurant they said do not so settled with the gate plate. The fries were overcooked and hard even the burger and gritty sauce did little to soften the fries. Only thing good about my meal was the onion rings 2 on top of the burger and gritty sauce mix. My younger kids enjoyed their pizza my oldest kids and wife also did not like theirs at all. I'm from syracuse NY and was in Rochester for the Strong Museum so decided to check out where the garbage plate pizza originated buy was sadly disappointed and prefer the knockoffs to the real deal.
I’ve been here twice now and both times I was impressed with the food and service. The first time I was here it was pretty quiet. The second time we had to wait to get seated. To start, The Gate House is known for their pizzas and their burgers. I got a burger both times. The first time I got the Pandora and the second time I got the Gramm. Both were bomb. I would recommend The Gate House without hesitation. Tasty food. Quick service. Indoor and outdoor seating.
What a cool spot. Definitely try the small app plate. The hummus and olives were a hit, and the falafel was crisp and very delicious. The salads were enormous! Not too heavy on the dressing, and the ahi tuna was cooked to perfection. Absolutely worth every penny!Dine in: YesTakeout: YesDelivery: Yes
