With our main Poole library - above the Dolphin Centre - frequently feeling like being in an outpatients unit of a psychiatric hospital, this quiet and architecturally pleasing building is a real oasis of calm. The library staff here are pleasant and helpful, and so quiet is it (as a library should be) that I have even been able to write a little bit, read and study in here. Praise be!

It seems I have not visited a community library for a while. There are few computers here, but thankfully, on the two occasions I've visited, there was one free for me to measure the download/upload speed as 5/5. The book selection is a little disappointing. Sign of the times, perhaps. What is impressive, however, is the children's section. A large chair possibly used for storytelling, a little cubbyhole to sit and read and tunnels hidden in the bookcases means this place gets an extra star.
