It's only a short walk to and around it. It has a board that tells you about it but you are better looking online first about the history of it.nThe road to get to it is single track so you have to wish nobody is coming towards you.nParking is limited on the road only.nIt is supposed to light up at night but we didn't stay that long or don't want to go back in a hurry
Walked up on the road parking up there then through the field - wow impressive! Walked round until dusk to see the lights on, must look amazing when it's fully dark. Great views, the turbine powering the lights spins so fast, smelt like burning, surprised it doesn't fly off! Shame idiots drive near it, though the puddles in the muddy groves make lovely reflections!
Look, Halo is impressive. But it’s literally a structure. It’s not even lit so at night it’s not striking. Seems like a missed opportunity to me but maybe lighting it is tricky - it’s in the middle of nowhere.nApart from some lovely views there’s nothing here. Well, there is a car park, which is useful.
Be careful driving on the road to The Halo as it's very narrow with blind bends.nIt's a beautiful view up there, and you can see miles around.nThe Halo isn't much to see during the daytime as it comes more to its right in the dark when the blue lights are on.
Beautiful walk and lovely views from the halo.nUnfortunately there have been cars up there rallying around the halo so it is a muddy quagmire. Really spoilt the experience as had to plough through all the ankle deep mud.
