From our first meeting with their representative we were impressed with the quality of the service we received. The tenderness mixed with professionalism was so helpful in engaging our family in the process of arranging the funeral of our beloved mum. They kept us focussed on the tasks, introduced us to an excellent celebrant and confirmed the detail for the service which turned out to be a very touching event, tactfully including a wide range of family members without dragging out the time. They kept us concise in our planning with sensitive advice. And the little touches they brought to the day were well appreciated all round. You couldn’t be in better hands we recommend Messrs, F. H. Halliday & Son most warmly.
Hallidays took good care of us each time one of our parents died. Whilst we were not directly involved, they did the same for our grandparents, too. The death of a parent is a difficult time, and one is not aware of all the things that need doing, nor when. All I can say is that, each time, everything happened like clockwork. Sensitively, kindly, unobtrusively, they guided us through the processes, the arrangements, the paperwork. We absolutely recommend them and will go to them again, when the need arises.
I used reviews such as this, as well as local word of mouth, to make the decision to use Hallidays in Portishead after the unexpected loss of my amazing Mum in September 2022. I am so glad I did. From my first telephone conversation with Helen, to the subsequent meeting, all the administration and planning, to the actual funeral service and surrounding requirements, Hallidays were an absolute pillar of professionalism, support and empathy. Helen, James, Kevin and Stuart were all absolutely wonderful, as well as the celebrant Paul who was their recommendation. I would appreciate it if you could pass our thanks on to Yvonne & her team. They looked after us wonderfully from the first time we made contact and particularly on the day of the funeral. Richard Evans as Celebrant was excellent and came across so well. We had plenty of people commenting on how nice a service it was. Hallidays were brilliant, professional, caring, respectful and courteous. Thank you all so very much for making a very hard day a little easier.
F H Halliday & Son dealt with the funerals of my Mother and Father, Less than one year apart, both funerals were lovely, the respect shown to my late parents and to me was very much appreciated. Every thing went smoothly on both days thanks to the professionalism of F H Halliday & Son, nothing was too much trouble for them, before, during and after both funerals.

Warm, friendly & professional. Thank you We have now sadly required Hallidays services twice in a year. Both times they have been compassionate, respectful & professional and we are very grateful. Having had an upsetting experience with a different local funeral director my advice is that a smaller family run undertaker will give your family and your loved ones a more personal service than a large chain.
