Hallcroft Fishbar

The food is great, service is great, but my issue is that on almost every visit, you have to order, then wait. I understand that in todays economic climate it is difficult, but it's a fish bar, but you have to wait for the fish to be battered and fried, why can't some be ready.Food: 4/5

We had cod chips and peas They could not of been better the cod was really nice chunky white fish, chips fresh cooked Would definitely recommend Food: 5/5

The best Chip shop in Retford. Food taste lovely and always hot. Yes you may have to wait now and again, but that's because it is so popular that a lot of people go there and order ahead. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. If there was 10 stars I would give them a full 10. Prices are really good and you get good amount for what you pay. I always go there after work at least twice a week

9.38pm today they are shut but their time on their door is 10pm, please change the time if you can not keep to this timetable. times as advertised.

Good takeaway chippy got all the standard food of a chippy plus extras that are good too. Food is good and one I would definitely recommend to go to.

This must be one of the best fish & chip shops that I've ever used. The quality is great - tasty fish with a nice thick crunchy batter and chips which have a good bite and not soggy. A standard portion is really large - however they do what they call 'mini' portions which are more like standard portions elsewhere. The shop and staff are well presented. The service is warm and friendly but efficient - you rarely have to wait long, even at busy periods. This place is close to where we live but is well worth travelling to for a top quality meal.

Popped in for a bite after going to the tip. Really friendly service and delicious food. All the staff were friendly and smiling.

So shiny! Brilliant chip shop! Cleanest I've seen ever. Friendly staff and owner. The best chips I've had since I was a child! The steak and kidney pie was the best ever. Not sure brand it was - cannot have been Pukka! Every mouthful was delicious with big chunks of steak in. Sadly I've come to expect bits of gristle in a Pukka meat pie, as you find in most chippys Thank you Hallcroft man for being so particular about your work.
