The lower part of the Tramway was closed due to a fault. However, the driver took us to the halfway point and back. We enjoyed our short journey. The driver was really nice and coming from Manchester, he was a true 'Red'. What more could we want! Thanks for a great experience. Will be back some day to complete the journey.
Fabulous experience riding on an original Victorian Tram with breathtaking views at the top of the Great Orme Llandudno! Extremely friendly and helpful staff to make the experience a day to remember!
A unique experience. Go on this, then Lisbon's and San Francisco's and you've been on all cable hauled tram in the world that still go on public roads. Halfway Station acts as an exhibition space on the history of the tramway and you can see the workings of the electric engines that assist the funicular running of the trams. Yes - funicular. So the weight of one tram going down hauls the other tram up. The engine just assists to make up the difference in weight of passengers. Great views of Llandudno Bay on the way up.
Great way to get to the top of the Orme. The half way station is really interesting and nicely laid out. At the top these plenty to do Also there's a nice pub and chippie at the bottom
Wonderful tram journey. The museum is nice as it shows off the workings of the tram, like the big cable for it. I highly recommend walking up the hill towards the sea and the town when you stop halfway, absolutely beautiful scenery. Highly recommend the tram altogether. Pricing is a bit weird, £6.50 for a single and £8.10 for a return. Makes it feel like it's pointless getting a single, so I wished the single to be cheaper so we could walk some of the way. Dogs allowed on board £1 each.
Historic tram cars running from the terminus in Llandudno to the summit of the Gt Orme. It is a superb experience to ride in the fully restored Victorian coaches, half way up the mountain you have to disembark & change to another tram that competes the journey. A worthwhile experience at a very reasonable cost
Fabulous experience amazing views on the clear day of our trip. Did not realise Llandudno was such a lovely place to visit. Pier and amusements were fun. Would recommend
Very touristy but it's a great example of a "still working " tramline, starts in Llandudno town, change trams half way and you will reach the "summit" of Great Orme where you can walk the fabulous nature reserve and get some lunch in the good cafe n shop at the top
The halfway station to the Great Orme Tramway. Great place to stop and visit the mines.
