Booked the major service & free mot online. First attempt - did the service but couldn’t do the MOT because the ramp was “broken” - re booked the MOT and brought it in today to be done, now the MOT machine is “broken” so it cant be done again and my MOT has expired so got to spend my time and more money finding somewhere that can get it done today.nNo phone call beforehand to warn me it couldn't be done. Will avoid at all costs going forward. Seems to be more of a cant be bothered more than anything else.
Car was booked in on line turned up early as suggested garage appeared over booked as cars everywhere even blocking payment outside, staff struggled to find booking on system was told to leave my car even though I had a appointment, they didn't even check the car before sending me on my way 12 minutes later gets a call we can't do the job. Returned staff looking for a key for a audi I own a seat u'll get a refund in about 7 days how do I make a complaint online can you give details no it's on line do you want to take your car its in the way.
Genuinely staggered. Took car in for assessment of knocking. I suggested it was a top mount strut, which they agreed. Booked in following week for it to be replaced, guaranteed. Car was there all day and they rang at 3:30 to say that it was the top mount strut! and as they'd been busy they'd book it in the following week at a cost of £266. I didn't bother.nInstead, I took it to an independent garage who said it was just a loose ball joint and charged me £55.nI'll leave it to readers to decide on what they think of that. Suffice to say I did email Halford HQ to say how poor it was. No reply...
Worst halfords ever. Waiting 10 minutes one one around to help. Just 2 people working. Don't care your time at all
Had my 4x4 serviced and mot in December. I was satisfied with the work done but again had my jag serviced and mot last January with the same complaint the condition of my car was VERY DISAPPOINTING. Oily hand marks everywhere oil marks on the carpet. All controls and steering wheel needed cleaning and the service book covered in oily hand marks. The beige door trims needed cleaning and even the seat belts.nDO YOU PROVIDE GLOVES TO YOUR STAFF AND PAPER TO COVER THE FLOOR? I have used Mill Lane for many years but as my Jag is due for a mot and service in January l think l will look elsewhere.
