Very disappointed in the way they dealt with my 91 year old father. They were asked to contact his granddaughters if any work needed to be done after his service and MOT. However they called my father direct and convinced him to have a spring repaced at a cost of £269. We believe we could have had this repair done much cheaper elsewhere. However He was confused and understood he couldn't have the car back until the repair had been done. So he paid the fee and had it repaired. Not good practice when dealing with elderly customers!!nParticularly when they were told to contact the granddaughters due to my and my brother's absence. We would definitely not recommend them.
Called to book a repair to a punctured Tesla tyre, told that Tesla tyres were impossible to repair. They aren’t. I’m booked in with the fantastic Solihull Vehicle Service Centre next door.nSpeaking to women like they are morons and know nothing about cars is not good business.
An attempted robbery happened here! I take my car in as it was making a terrible grinding noise, I asked them to take a look at the brakes and while they are there could they check out an esp fault I’ve had since driving on a space saver.nThey tell me the issues with my brakes, all good so far…but then comes the attempted robbery. They tell me my steering angle sensor has gone and I’ll require a whole new steering rack to fix the esp fault. That’ll set me back £1000-£1200, giving me a total quote of around £1550-£1750 with the brakes. I might not be a car expert, but I’m not a dummy either, I know you can buy that sensor for £70 online.nToday I went to a proper mechanic who fixed my brakes for £100 cheaper and recalibrated my steering for FREE! No new steering rack, no new sensor needed! Shocking.nAvoid these people to avoid over paying for things you just don’t need.
This is what a major service looks like for these guys... coolant not even topped up and the cap wasn't even on, looks like I have to start doing my own service again as you can't even trust these expensive garages anymore.....
Took my car to get an MOT for Halfords to fail it and quote me a repair fee of £240 + MOT fee, I thought I would get another quote on the repair from another garage who told me it should not of been marked as a fail. I then re-done my MOT with the other garage and it passed with one minor fault to the reverse light switch which was only £45. I saved myself £200 by following my gut instinct to get a second opinion on the repair quote. Due to this I won't be using Halford again because now I feel they are not trust worthy.
