Went for a free check as suspected loose valve on front tyre and brake problem. Let them fit new brakes but not replace the tyre as only had ones over budget. Picked car up, tyre warning automatically came on but for the rear tyre, thought they had swapped them but turns out there’s now a nail in 2 tyres. Car also won’t start as the battery is dead despite being absolutely fine up until it was with them. There’s also grease all over the brake discs. Very expensive mistake using this centre.nIt’s impossible to raise a complaint as just keep going round in circles. Online agent won’t help just advise to book mobile fitter to spend more money.nDon’t use this place!!
Didn't have a great experience here.nnInitial impression was poor as the person on the desk the centre manager really didn't seem like he wanted to be there. I felt he was being quite rude to the customer in front of me. I appreciate you need to try and upsell the Motor Club membership but there's no need for the big sigh and to be so snarky if they say no. You literally have a sign on your counter about not abusing staff, maybe consider your attitude towards customers too...nnDespite nearly cancelling my appointment following this exchange wish I had I left my car for an interim service and MOT, which to their credit they completed as requested.nnOn collection however I found my cream floor mats have big black greasy marks all over and the engine bay had been wiped down with engine oil making the car smell when it got hot see photos. Also the automatic gearbox developed a fault when I took it out the same evening. The car has been in the family since new and has never had an issue with the gearbox until then.nnAgain, to their credit, I spoke to a different manager and they agreed to check the car free of charge. Using the diagnostic computer we worked out from the codes that the gearbox issues was coincidental. I know my way around cars so I'm happy they were not trying to pull a fast one. They reset the ECU and while not fixed, it was an improvement on the way home.nnUnfortunately the whole experience has soured my opinion and I won't be going back. Had they not checked the car free of charge following the gearbox issue this would have been a one star review. Really disappointed as I have had a good experience in the past with Halfords Autocentre Luton.
Car went in for a full service and came out with engine light on. They took the new air filter out and put it back in and turned light off again. The oil and oil filter was supposedly changed but remaining oil life has gone from 100% to 88% in 3 days. The mechanic tried telling me it's Vauxhall's engines. There was No problems with the car before it was at this garage. Disgraceful to pay £300 for engine flush and full service to get the car back with problems.
The staff here are always so friendly and helpful. I never feel like I am getting ripped off and they couldn't do more to help.nHighly recommended!!! 10/10 Service.
The worst workshop ever ! Do not go there, personal is rude.. I've been there for an MOT, When i've took back the car the brake lines was leaking. I've came back to them but they did not admit that is their fault. Had to go to another garage to fix them. Halfords pass my MOT with a LEAKING BRAKE LINE !
