A very warm local pub-restaraunt with hardworking staff, who at times seen very pushed but remain smiling. Friendly service, but the length of time waiting for a meal after ordering is too long. This has been the experience 2 out of 2 times where the wait is over 30 minutes. The service is slow even though the staff are great and apologetic for the slow service. The location is good and it is on the main road with a car park so easy to find and park. Overall i would return and factor in a bit of a wait then no frustration. All good.
The place was nice but they could improve the garden area to look more tidy. Three stars because of the food, looked good but the taste let us down!
Lovely pub with top service. We had an issue with our food but the gentleman server quickly remedied. Also loved their baby care hamper in the baby change, for those moments when baby is caught short.
We had our wedding reception at this lovely pub! It was beautifully set up, the food was amazing and the service was great! We are very happy to have chosen the half moon for our wedding! We would definitely recommend this lovely pub to anyone looking for somewhere to host an event.
Attended a private event here yesterday and had a fab time. The pub is welcoming and the dining area and patio have been decorated beautifully for the season. We had mulled wine which was made on site and although cloudy to look at not the filtered bottled stuff from the supermarket tasted lovely and went down very well with most. We had some lovely party sharers and everybody gave positive comments about the food. I do agree with other comments that the dining room is cold however so this could do with addressing in this current climate just some plug in electric heaters would vastly improve things but otherwise a 5 star rating is well deserved.
Sorry rather cold welcome and disappointed with my burger as the meat was tough and no flavour, my friends liked their meals. Place was quiet and service was slow, could do a lot better.
Renovation looks great, but can't really compare as never been before, staff were nice and were willing and eager for feedback. So lovely location, staff generally pretty good, food...well there's definitely room for improvement..... I had lunch with my dad and ironically we both had the same, lambs kidneys to start and burger for main. Kidneys seemed to come from a pre-packed supplier, no real colour and slightly under cooked. There was a lack of mushroom and onion within the sauce and was served on top of bread, meaning it got very soggy. The burger....seemed like a burger from a shop, over cooked, no real flavour. We added bacon to our burger which was just as well, however it wasn't crispy bacon which would have improved the burger. The cheese I'm pretty sure was processed cheese and had no real flavour to it. The chips seemed to have a fishy taste and this is normally from only using one fryer to cook different foods. Additionally, was very disappointed at the lack of red meat on the menu, no steak.... I may go back at some point in the future, but I think I'll let them get to grips with their menu first.
The atmosphere and setting was nice but the food was average. I had to ask three times for mint sauce to go with the lamb and by the time it arrived I had almost finished my meal. It started to get chilly as the sun went down so we asked to use the table heater but we were shocked to learn there was a £5 charge to use it!
Myself and my partner recently moved into the area, and the Half Moon is our local pub. It's beautiful decor and warming Winter menu is only one highlight of the business. Roaring fireplaces and fantastic local beer selection! The icing on top is the absolutely wonderful team, attentive and friendly. We're always looking forward to our next visit to this fantastic business!
Great food and lovely to see the very hard working Jasmine working there again. What a polite and helpful young lady even bringing dog biscuits out to the garden for my friends dog! Nice to see Bob the legendary Windlesham based saxophonist there too. Fingers crossed he is soon back playing his saxophone in the garden when the weather allows.
