Limited menu and not the cheapest so you would expect the few things they cook to be of a good standard. The service staff are nice. The fish was nice but it's batter was full off oil. The veg was dry as if it had been sitting in a warmer. The chap next to me almost broke his teeth on the pie weights left in the steak pie, he was offered free drinks or puddings but was still charged full price when he got the Bill. He paid, left and said he won't be back.

The burger was awesome, would go back for that, the pint of lager was good. We waited 15 minutes for a menu though. Other than that it was good.

Just want to say a Great Big Thank You to all the staff at Haigs.  We had a family & friends evening last Saturday, the friendly, helpful staff and good food contributed to a Great Night.

Booked our table by phone about 8 days in advance. Turned up on the night to be advised that they did not have a booking for us. First person we spoke to said he would sort a table for us. 20 mins later it was clear that no one was doing anything about a table for us. So I had to approach a second staff member and eventually we were offered a very small table that could only just seat 4. We accepted as we were all starving by then. Waitress service was very good. Food was very good. We will give this lovely looking establishment another chance and hope our issues are not repeated.
