The restaurant was beautiful, really relaxed atmosphere. The food was great, fast service. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Overall a really nice place to visit for food and drinks, or even just a walk along the canal.
Really enjoyed the food here on a getaway to Lancashire. Both seabass and pizza were great and the wine selection was really good. Would definitely come back. Great portions too and staff were friendly.
Much of this might be due to being too full. For me, I couldn't hear any conversation due to the volume of the music, this meant the all the tables in a very full restaurant had to talk loudly to be heard, with my hearing, I couldn't communicate. The male waiters were very good but while the females were friendly they didn't follow through with requests for drinks multiple times. One didn't seem to be able to understand English and had to get someone to interpret. Overall, they worked very hard but couldn't cope with the number of people eating. The time waiting for meals to get to the tables was excessive and when the food arrived, a few of the starters and mains were over cooked and some burnt excessively. It was not close to the standard I'd expect when paying over £300 for a meal. Very poor, I won't be returning.
Three of us went for lunch, great value. I had mushrooms and shared a cheese garlic bread to start, both were hot and tasty. The spaghetti carbonara main course was lovely and a good portion. Only downside was the cappuccino after the meal it was on the cool side. Always enjoy eating here and the service is very good.Food: 5/5
The only thing nice was the decorations! Service is not great, food is mostly boiled veg and watered. The price is way too much for the food. Who cook scallops with their fouls??? Never again.
The menu for a country style pub is awful. The place was filled with loud, obnoxious young people, obviously there for a wedding, that wouldn't move out of yr way and let u get to the bar or the toilet. Bar service slow so we got 1 drink and left. Such a shame cos this place used be awesome.Food: 2/5
My partner & I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of guys . The food is well recommended & the staff were smart efficient & courteous right down to the chalet cleaners . The wines beers & ales were again perfect . Every aspect of our two night stay was just what we needed . Thank you to all who made our mini break amazing Mr N Tunnicliffe
The food is always so good, full of flavour and nicely presented, but what drops the stars is the service, staff do not appear that friendly, waited a while before ordering, and ignored when trying to order more drinks, staff did appear tired and worn outFood: 5/5
Food was delicious, staff were friendly excellent atmosphere. Definatley worth a visit again.
Very pleasant surroundings, attentive but not intrusive staff & a nice meal.... highly recommended
