Overall good experience. When we arrived the person who was supposed to be in the front was late so the owner/chef had to step in. While not a big deal he seemed quite distraught which is understandable - it was only me and my wife so no big deal. Food was good, I did find the sauce on the pasta to be watered down quite a bit but otherwise everything tasted good. Plenty of space for parking and prices were reasonable. We got a pizza to go and it was good as well, no complaints.
On our anniversary we ended up in Caledon and being gluten-free were pleasantly surprised to come upon Gusto Restaurant and Bar, with gluten-free options, in Caledon, Ontario, Canada. We didn’t read their past reviews until after and were a bit surprised at them. It’s a bit remote, beside a gas station on a 2 lane highway in the country. Yes it’s a basic in some ways they could use some softscape in terms of decor and update of the booths being a bit tired along the seams from kids and in others ways not. We started with a Masi Amarone and chose the Pollo e Pesto pizza without tomatoes on gluten-free crust as our starter. The young guy server was pleasant and helpful with a cheery smile. The pizza was delicious and perfect to share as an appetizer. For our shared main we chose the Herb Encrusted Australian Lamb. Wow they were the juiciest, tender and most flavourful lamb chops we’ve had anywhere. I actually swore out loud on the first bite. I’d drive an hour again just for those. We finished with hot cafe macchiatos and heavenly tiramisu. After we peeked into the attached Sports Bar - we understood from our server that on some nights during the week it is fully packed. We look forward to returning when we are in Caledon next to explore some of their other menu options. Chris > Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free options
We've ordered grilled calamari, which was reasonably good, and pizza with grilled chicken and sun-dried tomatoes. It's one of the worst pizzas ever. I'd say worse than Pizza Pizza, and definitely well below Metro's and Fortinos. It reminded me of frozen pizza from any grocery store. The waitress did not ask if we needed more water even once despite the place being E-M-P-T-Y. The furniture looks tired. When we asked if their dessert could be shared, the waitress said it's too small for sharing, so we did not order. We are not coming back for sure. Disappointed.
I had the worst experience visiting them. We were here to refill the gas in our car in the gas station which is right beside the restaurant. The gas station didn’t had washroom so I quickly ran to this restaurant and i very politely asked the ladies that i wanna use the washroom so if they can direct me towards it. They denied me saying this is only for the one’s who come to dine in our restaurant. I told them it was emergency and I couldn’t find any at the gas station. I requested them to let me in and they said they won’t allow me to use at any cost. This was rude, inhumane and ridiculous of them being a part of hospitality industry. We might have bought something to eat. But I would never ever go or recommend anyone I know to this place. Their food might be good but for me personally the atmosphere and attitude of people matters which these people might have never heard about.
This place is truly amazing. The staff was super friendly and great and the food was absolutely delicious. Would recommend everyone to try here atleast once.Food: 5/5
Great food but mostly safe and simple dishes. The server was very attentive. Would be back and would recommend.
We had higher expectations coming into this place, the calamari was not fresh at all it looked like it came from the freezer at Walmart. Service was in shambles didn’t even introduce themselves , failed to tell us items were missing on the menu , no information on specials either. We paid 27 dollars for a tiny piece of veal which is twice the size on a bun for half the cost at fortinos. Truly disappointed and shocked that it costed that much for dinner, don’t recommend this place and will never return.
Newly renovated. Empty. Service slow. Food was average and not good value. Glad we tried it though.Food: 3/5
Ambiance: Firstly, I really thought this was a chain of Gusto 101 but that's not the case. This restaurant is in the middle of farm land for those traveling from afar. The restaurant itself is decent. There are booths, a bar and tables inside. There was a tent in the back which is lit up with lights Food: This is where I have to deduct points Gnocchi Ai Porcini -this was certainly overcooked. The flavour itself was tasty hence it was the only reason we could eat this. Penne Al Pollo -this was certainly the most dissatisfying dish overall. There was absolutely no flavour. Lambchop- probably the most favorite amongst the group. Service: the service was great. They were very accommodating. Overall, I wish the food was a little tastier but otherwise this place is great for locals to enjoy.
Ordered the food from Uber eats. 130$ for three pastas and a pizza. First off if pizza dough looks like this, don't call yourself a restaurant or Italian. Dough is a pre made crust tastes like a frozen pizza. And didn't even give us our meatballs we ordered.Food: 1/5
