Well maintained. Beautifully made. So many opportunities for kids to learn different things like punjabi language, gatka, music etc. There is gym too.
Terrible parking and awful neighbourhood, full of litter and infested with pigeons and all that comes with it.nnIf someone weren't getting married here there is no way I would set foot in this place.nnThe main hall is surprisingly small for such a large building and the lobby and shoe area are cramped and congested.nnIt is necessary for removal of shoes here and this not only exacerbates the crowding in the lobby, but unnecessarily creates the risk of shoe theft. I fail to see how wearing shoes impairs faith, but I guess we all have our beliefs no matter how misguided.nnIt is also necessary to sit on the floor. Get with the 21st century! I can practice my faith sitting at home in my lazy boy with no head covering and shoes on if I wish I prefer without, but nobody is going to nick them from my home so what possible reason is there to come here? Oh yes, a wedding :
This was the biggest temple in Europe when first built. It serves the sikh community in Derby and they start the vasakhi parade from this location. Langar is available and served every day by volunteers.
