Went for dinner , loved the veg and Non-veg options. Tried Chicken dishes Curry and Liver fry it was lip smacking authentic food. Food quality and Portion size were good. Lentil Daal and Rice was too good, just like home made. the atmosphere is quite unique with Nepali Artifacts and history. Vegetarian options: Lentil Daal with Rice.
We ate here last night for the first time in years and all I can say is the food was quite good but the service was very poor. They couldn’t wait for us to leave, they brought the bill over when we hadn’t asked for it and banged the open/closed sign on the window. I would suggest some lessons in being courteous, serving with a smile and an appreciation that your spending your hard earned money would help the staff.
This is one of the most disappointing meals I’ve had in a long time. We went as a group of 3, ordered a main dish each and 4 sides. Literally everything tasted the same, there was no distinction between any of the dishes. The lamb was tough and the vegetables were frozen and mushy. We were asked at the end if the food was satisfactory and we passed on our feedback to the staff. They really couldn’t care less and just laughed. The meal for 3 was £100 which is absolutely ridiculous as well.
Went to Gurkha Palace for a works do. The staff were great and I had the best curry I have ever eaten but I had a few beers that night so needed to try again before leaving a review. got a takeaway for me and my partner this evening and can now confirm this is the best curry house in the area. 100% would recommend and I will be returning in the future. Thanks guys
I highly recommend Gurkha Palace to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious Nepalese dining experience. The staff curry is a standout dish that is not to be missed, and the restaurant's friendly staff and elegant atmosphere make it a perfect choice for any occasion.Recommended dishesStaff Curry
Love the setup of the restaurant with the beautiful Gurkha Armor “khukri” my favorites out of the platter would be their steamed momodumpling with the keels chicken filling, simply brilliant & authentic Himalayan, just the way it is in Nepal. The lamb curry is also great with soft lamb pieces, hospitality is very nice, would love to visit again & again The amazing food went really well with a bottle of Prosecco, absolutely loved having dinner here :
Fantastic meal. Had friends come up from Bournemouth. Staff very nice and polite and food was stunning. Had starters mains and sides with rice's and naans and all was fantastic. Thanks to everyone.Food: 5/5
Tired and a rundown feeling, bit of a cheesy 1980s flashback. Food mediocre and not particularly fresh tasting or exciting. Toilets a bit grim. Seems to have a loyal clientele, so I guess it won't change. Wouldn't return out of choice. Vegetarian options: Had 2 veggie specials from tandoori but not particularly good with scant paneer and lots of cheap onion on one and just one, medium stuffed potato in the other. Other veggie mains appeared to be various vegetables in differing variations of brown curry sauce.
Lovely meal everything wash fresh and tasty especially the MOMO lamb dumplings and garlic nan....Yummy food and nice staff...
Have been 3 times. Nice place for nepalese and indian style dishes. Fresh spinach dish was great. Lamb was a little tough on a couple of occasions. All else good.Food: 4/5
