Just returned from a wonderful 4 night stay at Gunton Hall in Suffolk. Our accommodation was a standard chalet which was extremely clean and comfortable. Staff throughout our stay were extremely helpful and friendly. Service was also excellent. Evening entertainment was very good with plenty of room for everyone. We never experienced any delays in getting served. We had late breakfasts and late evening meals but there was always enough food, plenty of choice and good quality food. This was our first Warner break but it won't be our last. Many thanks to the hardworking staff who made our stay so memorable.
We had an exceptionally relaxing visit to Gunton Hall, we will definitely be returning. Huge thanks to Megan, Leo and of course Donna, they really made our stay special. Our lodge was well equipped and clean. The surroundings were peaceful and we did not need to leave the grounds. Evening entertainment was very good and there was something different every night. During meal times there was always plentiful dishes available. Favourite dishes were quickly replaced by kitchen staff when they were consumed.
Really lovely place to go and relax. Beautiful surroundings, great little chalet that had been newly refurbished. The food and choices were amazing and delicious. Staff were friendly and accommodating and there was plenty to do. We did archery, pool and went for a swim, free of charge. Paid for a history of gin tour which was well worth it. Definitely going to book to go again.
Room was very clean, comfortable bed and fluffy pillows. Entertainment excellent, comedian funny without profanity, food delicious, staff mostly friendly and courteous. Fabulous spa treatments. Booked to return several times next year. Only minor grips are no marmalade all week, pool closed two days as temperature dropped. Lots of potholes needing filling in as guests are older clientele. More brighter lights needed at night along pathways. As stated only minor gripes. Overall a very pleasant, relaxing week.
We have visited this hotel before and were reasonably impressed. It seems they are now trialling a new breakfast and dinner menu. This basically means far less choice and less waiter service. The food itself is still of a high standard but not much variety and you mostly have to serve yourself. There also seems to be a smaller entertainment team so when a member of that team goes sick what they can deliver is compromised but on the whole they do a good job. Really enjoyed archery lesson and daily quizzes
A lovely place for a relaxing adults only break with a good selection of activities available throughout the day if needed. All the staff were helpful and attentive. Plenty of choice at breakfast and evening meals to suit all tastes and dietary requirements. The accommodation although showing signs of age outside was clean and comfortable. A lovely little lake to walk round but would be inaccessible to less mobile guests due to the uneven surfaces and the same for access to the nearby beach as this is down a narrow trail but offers a lovely walk along the beach to Lowestoft. A good bus service runs from outside the park. Evening entertainment was good and varied with options available such as film screening should you need a more relaxed evening. Drinks prices are on the high side so something to keep a track on as its a cashless system with all purchases charge to your room to be settled at departure.
We enjoyed an excellent New Year 3 day break. Good food, Excellent evening entertainment and nice chalets all we could wish for. They need to think about the signage outside the reception area which what was there was not readily visible approaching from the car park, the area our chalet was in was not sign posted at all until you got close. Shame I am making this point but hoping they will do something so that I can give the 5 stars it richly deserved.nexy time I stay with them.
Stayed in a Garden Lodge. Pleasantly surprised. Comfy bed, roomy bedroom, roomy shower. Lovely lounge, clean bedroom and shower room. Super position in beautiful grounds. Food mainly excellent. Service a bit slow at times .Better to ask for decaf tea and coffee at breakfast as it is served in a personal tea/coffee pot rather than being served with a cup at table which quickly gets cold and I found an unpleasant taste. Superb sports hall and swimming pool. Plenty of activiti.es outdoors.
We have been to gunton hall 3 times in the past 2 years. The price is affordable and the service is excellent. On a recent trip, we were lucky enough to have the same waitress as before. Her name is Caroline, and she was very helpful and kind, nothing was too much for her. She's an asset to the company. The only complaint we have is the slowness of the bar staff, you could wait a long time for drinks to arrive and you can't get your own drinks. This is not a reflection on the staff, there just aren't enough of them.. They were rushed off their feet! Finally I would like to give a mention to the pool guards. They were always ready to help and were very aware of people's needs. They're also a credit to the company. We can't wait to come back!
All-in all they could do better. The whole of the chalet's need a make over on the outside. Swimming pool was good. The staff good. But won't be going there again Didn't really enjoy the location. Local beach is nudist beach. Bit of a shock . There should be a sign warning people.
