Beautiful building, closed for maintenance at the end of August on a very sunny day with lots of people visiting and wanting to visit.
Very good, interesting visit. Well worth a visit. The car park is a bit of a walk down several steps so anyone with a mobility issue needs to be dropped off outside the door before going to find a parking space. The car park is on the hill behind the building. It's only a couple of minutes walk away.

Went for the halloween event and was pleasantly suprised. Great for the kids and the staff were lovely! Barely cost a thing and our girls 6year+8year olds really enjoyed themselves. Free face painting and glitter tattoos and donut bobbing etc. Really good fun really great staff
This is an amazing place to stay, I have a family of 9 and this is the first place that we've stayed in since we could go out because of COVID-19, it's a shame that we couldn't go into the museum but the house itself is stunning, the pubs, shops and restaurants nearby are great places and even though the queue for the ice-cream was long it's absolutely worth it!
A really enjoyable experience. Strongly recommend to anyone visiting the area. You may also catch sight of the seals and enjoy some holsome chip from the local chip shop. A really well situated museum and plentiful parking.
Brilliant for a family stay! Had a great time for our Grans 80th and enjoyed the house so much. Would benefit from a little bit of refurb in some areas and rooms to freshen up.
Loved this place so interesting. Great to loose a few hours and educate yourself on what went on in the local area and beyond.
