Amazing food!! Loved the tasting menu so I didn’t have to make any decisions, which came with a great variety of dishes. Definitely can’t go wrong with anything here.Food: 5/5
We had a wonderful lunch for 2 at Gunpowder! Mustard Broccoli was good, the venison was a treat and the potato dish which I forgot it's name was divine! The seabream was wonderful and make sure to order the yogurt on the side! Pudding desert. All highly recommended
I had dinner here to celebrate a birthday and we had a pleasant experience. Food was lovely, between 2 people you definitely need 2-3 sharing starters as we didn’t get much in our main. We ordered Okra Fries, Gunpowder Chaat and Mustard Malai Broccoli. I would recommend the okra fries, they were coated in a nice crispy chickpea batter. Although having the okra slightly bigger would have been great. Also the malai broccoli was amazing. The malai sauce adds lots of flavour to the broccoli. As for our mains we had steamed rice and Saag with Tandoori Paneer. The service was great, friendly staff and very helpful. The only bit I did not enjoy as much was how cramped the restaurant is. It’s like your invading each other spaces. Overall, we enjoyed the food but it is rather expensive for the portion sizes you get. I would definitely say it is more on the expensive side for an Indian cuisine. Vegetarian options: There are a few vegetarian dishes although majority of the menu is more meat based.
Sexy little spot, great for date nights and catch ups. Not a great solo dining spot It was absolutely heaving on a Monday evening popular. Good service - inconspicuous attentiveness is how I'd best describe it. Food was nice, we ordered about 12 plates between the 3 of us and it was enough, we all left fully satisfied. Forgot to take pics but here's a pic of the bread & butter dessert . I'll be back!
The food has really good flavours and well elaborated. The service was ok. The restaurant is tiny and so are the tables. But the food and service make it up for it. I’ll you guys soon!Food: 5/5
On first thought, the restaurant was very small, yet intimiate. We visited for a work birthday lunch and all opted for the 2 course lunch. 8 of us were easily accommodated for and light Indian music was playing in the background. We all loved the food from veg to non veg diners and the staff were attentive.Food: 5/5
This restaurant is relatively close to my office so it’s a go to for close colleagues from other cities who wishes to have Indian. It’s westernized yet still local enough for visitors. The Rasam ke Bomb is an interesting dish with a twist. The Tandoori chicken chop was great. Save space for Old monk rum bread and butter pudding!Food: 4/5
I had dinner at Gunpowder with my girlfriend for her birthday meal, and had a pleasant experience. The service was great - they were attentive and accommodating, letting me and my girlfriend dine 30 minutes earlier than our reservation and even letting us move from a small table in the corner to a bit more comfortable table in the back of the restaurant. The restaurant is quite small, so it does get a little hard to have conversations and there isn't too much privacy when you're less than an arms reach away from the next table. The food is amazing as expected. The vermicelli doughnut was such a unique dish; the venison meat inside was delicious, but the delicious sauce for the doughnut was the star. I was pleasantly surprised by the Gunpowder Chaat; the tamarind and yogurt was a really nice contrast to the other acidic and spicy sauces. The braised pork ribs were great at first, but the rib my girlfriend had was a bit overcooked and tough, so the inconsistency of that dish was a little disappointing. The best dish of our meal was actually the rum bread pudding for dessert. The texture, the flavor, the balance between the hot and cold was all perfection. The bread pudding is a must-try for sure!
Food was absolutely brilliant, service was great. It is a small little venue so seating is close but the food is excellent so you'll either not notice or be desperate to order what ever the table next to you is having. Go with a good appetite and try lots of the small dishes. Chicken and Saag were stand out as was the donut
tonight is my last stay in London. I glad I choose here for my last dinner. The waitress helpfully recommended food. What she suggested like tandoori chicken and roasted lamb was all very great. I will come back later in the next visit.Food: 5/5
