Great course. Relatively short but contours are interesting and the views are superb. Greens can be challenging at times and generally conditions are decent considering its winter time. Clubhouse / Pro shop staffs are friendly and have all the necessary facilities like the practice areas. Need to be aware of the general public walking around though. Highly recommended and can't wait to get back there in the summer. Big shoutout to Adrian for hosting us on the day. And by the way what a lovely pint of Guinness!
A very well maintained course with excellent views over Guildford, the surrounding countryside, and the Cathedral. This is open land and so beware of the walkers when teeing off!
I enjoyed the golf course I am a high handicapper. The course was relatively dry after several days of rain. So why 3 star? I don’t like dogs and there were too many dog walkers for my liking Also the parking is limited as you have to struggle with dog walkers Having said that, beautiful views. If not for the dog situation I will most certainly be coming back
I have to say playing Guildford today was one of my favourite rounds of the year so far. Maybe because the weather was so beautiful, maybe it was because my wife had one of her best rounds so far or maybe because the course is stunning! The elevation over the surrounding countryside really sets the seen for the majority of the undulating holes sprawled across this wonderful course. A tricky back nine really tests your ability off the tee with a several risk reward par 4s tempt you. Stunning condition from tee box to green. Worth a trip to play.
Good track with some interesting holes. Not too tough but being real all golf courses are difficult. Had a good day and the dinner was excellent as was the club house and the staff.
A terrific club, brings the sun to Surrey And we visit whenever we can. The 'demeanor' is smart casual, the course is well kept and hums all day with the playing of golf. It's in the Surrey Hills, on the Merrow Downs .. on a clear day you can see right into Hampton Court Palace. We can't wait to get our first round of 2023, and we're hoping to do that at the Guildford Golf Club. The Pro Shop is where we begin, the team in there is great, super-knowledgeable, welcoming and all golfers themselves. Sam, Andy and Derrick offer equipment advice and love to share golfing tips. I think they all coach, too, and they run weekend pick-up and play sessions. The star it loses, is also positively, a plus. Being where it is, several walking, hiking trails intersect on part; so pauses must be observed when necessary, in and around some of the greens as yourself and others play.
Enjoyable track, very undulating, don't expect too many flat lies
Best local course I've played recently. I'm not a member but it was easy to book a tee time for a Saturday afternoon. Exceptionally good course and the club members that we met we're incredibly friendly. Shame my golf didn't do the course justice but I'll be back for sure
Played as a visitor. Just about worth the £40 green fee. Great and interesting course layout. Sounds short but the gradient makes the course play much longer. Greens and tee boxes in good condition. Fairways and paths in very good condition. Course is well presentable. Beware the occasional Walker and the road behind the 5th. Unbelievable how many Pro V1 balls found across the course!!!!! Must be a rich mans golf course!
Course was in great condition, especially for December. Greens were running amazing well. Friendly members out on the course. Excellent
