Just had a four night stay in Greenwich. Decided to go for brunch at Grind.......best decision ever, that good we went back every day! Great place, atmosphere and food to die for with the best egg's I've ever tasted! Massive thanks to all the staff for a great experience!! We will definitely be visiting again when next in London!
Service - we were served by Amy who was very friendly and super attentive Decor/vibe - beautiful and had a relaxed and fun vibe. Food/drinks - really nice and different flavours so it was exciting to try some new things. A little bit on the expensive side though.
Went a few weeks back for brunch and would definitely recommend. Amazing food choice and bottomless Prosecco. Our waiter Nina green hair was amazing! She was so attentive and customer service was very professional yet relatable. Despite us coming at a busy period she still served us efficiently! Amazing customer service! Will be back again!
Friendly and attentive staff even when it was busy. The fullvegetarian breakfast was hearty and left us.. well, full . I absolutely love sitting in their glass covered porch/backyard.. perfect place to be outside while still protected from the elements. It was my second time and am sure I will be back again soon and bring more friends !
The brunch itself was great. The vegetarian breakfast was tasty and the harissa cakes in their own right were great. It was great to see proper long black coffee on the menu, which tasted great. The service was great, the speed at which items arrived was equality impressive. Lastly, the value was very good; brunch items typically priced between approximately £9-13.
Greenwich Grind is an Instagramish spot with a cool large decor, bouncy tunes and a relaxed vibe. While the service is friendly and the menu focused on good comfort food choices, the overall experience was hit and miss. The prices are comparable to The Ivy Brasserie which comes with an expectation of consistency, quality and quantity. For starters the food portions are smaller than average. The flat-iron steak £19.50 with hash browns was perfectly cooked but the serving size could be larger and the bearnaise sauce improved way to thick. The buttermilk hotcake £11.00 was flat no fluff, overcooked and cold. The service was warm and friendly but aloof. We ordered a coffee after the food and fifteen minutes later we asked when it would arrive. The order never made it the coffee station and offered as a complimentary item which was a nice touch. The experience is probably better during non peak periods. A cool, very dog friendly spot to grab some comfort food around Greenwich.
A nice little spot to have a coffee or a bite to eat. It’s a nice environment and staff are attentive. Would definitely come back. It can feel a bit busy during school holidays but there’s enough space inside to accommodate without feeling packed between people. Nice decor too.
Sylvia Plath once wrote, “If you expect nothing from somebody, you are never disappointed”, and that was my initial mistake in choosing to try out this chain: expecting too much from it. From the second the doors to Grind opened this morning, we were swiftly brought through to sit down at one of the furthest ends of the restaurant, where the servers were not regularly attending the table. The restaurant was freezing cold to the point we had to keep our jackets on, closed and wrapped around us to prevent freezing too much, as there was no heating provided or offered. The only warm source was coffee. Although the coffee was promptly made, they did not ask whether we wanted a regular or a large cup and immediately assumed large: something we did not realise till we received the bill with the higher price for coffee than what we ordered. Despite having received the coffee within the first 15 minutes of sitting down, the food did not arrive until 50 minutes had surpassed. The server for our table was very sweet and apologetic. By the time our food came, all the tables around us who had been seated later were already through their meals. There was an evident lack in communication, which the restaurant did apologise for. However, they did not notify us while we sat in the cold, shivering and hungry. Due to the hectic visit, by the time the food came, we had spent over an hour in there and were cold, hungry and disappointed with the overall experience. Although I do not regret trying their avocado toast, I will personally not be returning to this restaurant or trying other branches of the chain.
Brilliant place. Dog friendly, nice food, good service. Buttermilk chicken burger is fantastic and the sausages in the full English are the best iv ever eaten.Weirdly the David Attenborough podcast playing in the toilets was a really nice touch. Different.
Nice place to visit for Brunch. I ordered the full English which was good but did arrive colder than expected. So I have removed 1 star for this. Staff were very helpful. Would return.
