Love ut! Such an amazing environment, all the volunteers are great people and need to be paid more, like. The food is good but you get bored of potatoes after a while
once arrived at the residential i thought to myself, “ this is going to be a long couple days”… i was correct. i felt like i was a criminal being treated with the death penalty. my room smelt like eggs, window didn’t open and yellow stains on the mattress!!!! furthermore, the heating was on full blast during the day and night. The toilets also had a very “fishy” smell to them that lingered around the hall.nnMoving onto the canteen, the food was absolutely terrible, the only thing cooked right was the chips. The chef making these food looked like he had got news that his family had just been bombed, kidnapped and sent to cambodia. You would think you would try make a good impression..Nope!!! this man couldn’t even put on a fake smile it was disgraceful, even his attitude towards us was horrendous and you could tell he didn’t want to be there. Also when talking to my friends i couldn’t talk in peace as i seen baby gronk rizzing up livvy dunne in front of me saying “hes the rizz king of ohio”nnthe activities weren’t too bad. But there was one employee that took us or rock climbing naked jack who was very rude and had an ego bigger than his height. And if his height and attitude wasn’t bad enough his “leeds” accent was near enough a disability it’s self. On the other hand, the other employees that took us on the scavenger hunt were very civil and nice towards us, i believe their names were corn and cob. Cob was very nice and peaceful, corn was quiet on the other hand but i have nothing bad to say about him.nnUnless someone pays me good money, i will not be coming back. Felt like i was back in juvenile detention and almost brought me back PTSD…
Staying here has led me to research Maghaberry Prison and I came to a conclusion conditions are better there , absolutely appalling!! As soon as you step foot into your “room” but here I’ll call it a cell, you suddenly feeling the radiation of depression, sadness and blandness of the room hitting you like Iron Mike, who would want to stay here ? Quite frankly the environment wasn’t the only element which reminded me of a prison, also the structure or how the place is ran.As we walked into our almost as if prison block we were met with the bed which weren’t made a basic service which is provided in any 1 star hotel.nnMoving on to the food. The food was served like in a prison like fashion cheif had no emotion on his face , wouldn’t even crack a smile.Etheir way I tried to food once for our 2 night stay as after the first I was met with a sore stomach and almost throwing up!!! Left me thinking I was poisoned, member in the canteen also left me in shock after a dialogue I had with him, this member seemed disgusted, disappointed and displeased that I refused to eat the lunch cause of concerns of my own safety of my health, I decided to make toast instead which then the member , a fully grown man, explained to me a independent and fully able teenager how to use a toaster.I was completely devastated and disheartened after the service I received in the canteen and the food that was provided , keep in mind the food was paid for.nnTo make the review a little bit more positive i was very happy about the members of staff which took out group on the scavenging hunt they treated us with care and love , I couldn’t not show my appreciation more but on the other hand Jack who did the rock climbing with us had a ego bigger than the mountains close to the residential and had a unprofessional approach, to go into further detail he made in appropriate comments towards members of our group, this is absolutely shocking as it was a minor he was also extremely cheeky and cocky, Durring the laser tag he decided to use his master gun and kill everyone as he seemed bored which completely ruined the fun of the activity which our group booked.nnOverall the environment around the site is beatiful and the 2 members of staff on the hunt were extremely professional, caring and kind this will a trip and stay that will be memorable.
Awful only good thing was quorn and gemmy, baby gronk and jason pancake came into my room and fed me with a shoe
We had a great time. Enjoyed the activities, walks and the waterfall! This was our first family outing in 6 months due to shielding, and we felt very safe. Thank you for having us!
