Poor bay markings. I went for first time, and didn't know where to park, as there's no lines or posts, was first car in, so I looked like I didn't know what I was doing. Barrhead dump is way clearer. Staff was polite though. Booking system shouldn't be required.
We pulled into the recycling centre today as we had a flat tyre. The staff were so lovely. They guided us to a safe area to park up the car, they stepped in and took control of the situation. They changed our wheel for our spacesaver and got us back on the road in 15 mins. I know this wasn't expected, and isnt their job, but they totally restored our faith in humanity today with their kindness. My husband has a bad back and would really have struggled physically to change it and i am clueless...but you guys were superheroes today. Our sincere thanks to all the staff today. Keep being amazing !
Visited the recycle centre on Friday afternoon with a car full of dismantled wardrobe. A lovely young guy who worked there straight away offered to help me unload the car, before going on to help an elderly gentlemen who then arrived to unload. I hope his manager reads this review as he really is a credit to East Ren Council!
Never thought I'd be reviewing a "recycling centre", but... Well organised, friendly staff.
I had booked a van in on line. Showed the jobs worth guy my booking, Asked what I had, household waste mostly wood for recycling, said it' looks like a jobbing van , asked to speak to his boss backed down and told me to go ahead, not a pleasant experience.
Disappointed, have booked several times and always printed off copy of bookingthought we were a paperless society, but have never been asked for it, until on one occasion when I left it on printer, I was refused entry by an "old guy" albeit I suggested he check my appointment on their tablet, which he said he couldn't do, I had to return home pick it up, then back to site, offered it to same person who said "no need I trust you" what a waste of time. Other staff have always been friendly and helpful.
Misunderstanding on my 2nd visit but managed to get it sorted. Thanks to the manager and great customer service from Colin. Bare in mind Booking online is still required for this site.......
ERC have changed the online booking for Greenhaggs, Newton Mearns, can only book in a Wednesday morning at 9:00 for following week. Site was overwhelmed, could not access to book, unbelievable, please revert back to daily booking, this is useless.
Absolute disaster zone. Still allegedly need proof of address but they don’t ask for it. Anarchic chaos makes for a distressing experience. I’d recommend people use the Recycling Centre in East Kilbride, just 5 minutes away from Clarkston.
Absolutely bonkers,every other council recycling centres are open only eastrenfrewshire council is busy making people’s lives miserableno access without booking n each time you try to book it’s already full. I have been trying since recycling centres have open for just weekends,it’s absolute shambles,I have seen people leaving stuff at the roadside n entrance of recycling centre ,I think that’s a forced action,since council is busy using COVID-19 for their benefitopen up recycling centres immediately or pick up the bins properly.
