Three of us went to the Green Room for lunch, we had the £15.95 - 3 course menu starter or nibbles, main course and dessert. Service was spot on, food delivered quickly and all hot and most of all extremely tasty. You can mix from today's special and the menu so lots of choice. The setting is also very nice. Can't fault it, we all cleared our plates. Highly recommended.
Had a lovely two night stay here for a family wedding. Great location as in centre of the town. Stayed in a twin room which consisted of a double and single bed so can sleep 3 and an ensuite bathroom. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room and bottles of cold water in the fridge. There was a hairdryer in the room, and an iron and ironing board were available to use and found in the corridor outside our room. Breakfast was absolutely fabulous, I recommend the full English.. it was very fresh, great flavour, tasty thick bacon , fresh tea and coffee, juices, cereal, fruit and croissants. Staff were helpful, polite and efficient.
The Green Room used to be a great place to eat. Been dining here for 20 years, but recently the food quality & service has plummeted. The last meal I had there will be my last visit which I am sad about after having such a lovely time there in the past. The restaurant was full of flies, large & small which was a bit off-putting from the start. I don’t know what makes their chef think it’s okay to serve raw potatoes alongside a fish with the liver and roe still attached and dark brown sludge oozing out. The waiter said “that’s just a bit of blood”. Yuck! I complained & refused to eat it, but they didn’t offer me an alternative, or take it off the bill. My husband’s medium rare steak was very fatty & a good vet could’ve got it back on its feet. Such a shame because The Green Room used to pay attention to detail and consistently serve excellent quality food in a friendly manner. My family & friends were very surprised when I shared my bad experience with them. I wish you better luck if you choose to eat here.
Delicious food and lovely staff. We were here for a colleague’s farewell lunch and I found there was no vegetarian option on the Sunday Roast but we were well taken care of and we really had a good time. Desserts were fab! Special thanks to Tracey for helping out with the parking. We shall visit again soon guys!
This is a review of the hotel. I stayed for one night, friendly and helpful staff. The car park/parking is hidden, turn into the driveway across from the Globe Crown, drive to the back, turn right into a gravel parking area, and there is a sign for the Green Room. You need to call them to open the door. The hotel is listed as 4 star but more like a 1-2 star hotel. Room was small, uncomfortable bed, clean, nice bathroom, full self service coffee. Breakfast is included with the room and was excellent full English breakfast, juice and coffee. My price was 80 pounds.
A cosy, welcoming restaurant that always serves great food with fantastic service. Most recently we had the Christmas dinner which came out piping hot, in very generous protons, and tasted amazing. Couldn't fault a single thing about the entire meal.
The Green Room is absolutely amazing, the service, especially from Lincoln is top notch, I left my charger in my room and he went above and beyond to return it to me. When I'm in Yeovil again, I'll be staying at The Green Room. I was in Yeovil for a memorial service, so a hard time, but the staff at The Green Room made it a pleasant stay, and the breakfast was amazing. Thank you Lincoln and The Green Room. If more companies took a leaf out of their customer service playbook things for customers would be so much better. Rooms: Room is very spacious, warm and inviting Nearby activities: Close to town centre and transport links Safety: Safe and secure Walkability: A 6 minute walk from yeovil bus station Food & drinks: Breakfast was awesome, great size portion, not stingy with the bacon! Noteworthy details: So much charm and character, a home away from home Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options
What a pleasent surprise!! Things dont look so promising approaching from the street. But I must say, this is a beautiful building with a pleasent history. The staff are more than welcoming helpful and informative. The venue is clean, bright, and traditionally aesthetic with a warm homely feel. The Rooms - You'll find them clean, warm and comforting, just what you need for a short stay! The Food - Don't get me started on the food, I have never had food taste so delicious before. Everything on the plate had a unique, succulant taste, even the carrots! Potatoes were cooked to perfection and the meat was beyond perfectly done. All in all a bloody good bargain as it wasn't overly expensive. You get twice the service and quality than you get with Premier Inn for half the price. Oh, and FREE Parking Joshua Hopkin Parking: Limited, but free
This place was recommended to me by a good friend, the staff are friendly, the room spotless, the breakfast yummy. The room was affordable and when I find myself in yeovil again I'll stay at the green room again. The place has so much personality, character and charm it feels like a home away from home. Absolutely amazing and a real treat for a visitor from out of town Vegetarian options: There is a vegetarian option for breakfast, I didn't have it but its there on the breakfast menu. Parking: Big parking lot Wheelchair accessibility: Entrance with no stairs on level with the ground
Very Disappointing! I have been to the restaurant to eat on several occasions over the years . I decided to book a table today as it was my birthday , as I thought this would be a real treat . How wrong could I be . Nobody was in the restaurant at all , so we were the only ones in the restaurant apart from some staff that came & went helping themselves to whatever they wanted to drink from the bar . This must of been free for them as no money was exchanged. They then went and sat down in the restaurant , chatting . Two boys walked in wearing hoodies , and asked the man who served us if they could charge up their mobile phones . He offered them to sit at a restaurant table , whilst their phones charged . Whilst this was going on , they kept glaring at us , laughing, swearing etc ! It made us feel really uncomfortable. The chap that served us restaurant manager , never greeted us with one smile . He was almost like a robot throughout our experience. The food , on the other hand is still very good , but I think this is now the one and and only thing that is saving this restaurant. On this experience, I will spend my money elsewhere, where the staff have grasped the concept of hospitality!! . Very disappointed. What has happened to The Green Room ?
