Could not fault one bit. We're novices with the caravan and were well looked after. Friendly and polite staff, owners made us feel welcome sorry, I'm hopeless with names , good drinks choices, excellent food in a beautiful setting. The caravan pitches are well placed and the beer garden must be lovely in summer. Can't wait to visit again in the spring.
We visited on a Sunday at lunchtime with no booking and a dog, as we had been trying to find somewhere to eat on our journey home. Despite this, we were warmly welcomed in and shown to a table straight away. The staff were really lovely and attentive, the food was reasonably priced and delicious all of our group really enjoyed what we had, including the vegetarian options, and they even brought out a sausage in gravy for our dog, who was delighted. Couldn't have been any better, I highly recommend visiting.
Lovely pub on the border of Wales /Shropshire which also includes a caravan/camping area at the rear. The staff are very welcoming and the food is lovely with generous portions. They serve best chips I've ever had! On Thursdays they do fish and chips for just £9.99 and there is also a steak offer for £30 for 2 people on a Friday which includes wine. It's nice to go into a proper old fashioned pub again rather than the big chains. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options
Had a fantastic evening and overnight stay at the Green Dragon. Excellent food and great service from the friendly staff. There was live music on the day we were there which added to the atmosphere. We will certainly be returning. Great value for the money.Rooms: 5/5
Great place, hosts and food. Will defiantly return again. Mixed grill cooked and tasted great. Fish in beer batter excellent. Our little dog had beef doggy sausage and was made very welcome. Parking: Plenty of parking spaces
£14.95 for a low quality carvery, go elsewhere. Editing to add some detail since the reply from the Green Dragon: Recently stopped at the Green Dragon for a carvery on a Sunday afternoon as we were driving back home from a walking trip. The inside of the pub is nice and intimate and all the staff were kind and friendly. The three of us all ordered a single course carvery which was £14.95. The food itself, in my opinion, wasn’t great. The turkey was well cooked however the beef was objectively well done and all 3 of us were given tiny slithers of meat. The remainder wasn’t that great either. There didn’t seem to be any cheese in the cauliflower cheese, the carrots tasted like frozen jobbies, the roast potatoes were stodgy not crispy in the slightest and everything else was just ok. We only had one serving and then promptly paid up and left. Wouldn’t visit again if were in town.
Pub was freezing cold, meat over cooked and roads vegs nearly burnt on outside but hard other vegs undercooked and cold. Pudding nice and hot. Landlord said the air source pump wasn't working properly but no offer of any other source of heat.
You can be sure of a warm welcome by the owners Tommy & Shaz at this traditional pub restaurant with the addition of air bnb & camping for motorhomes and glamping pods. Good selection of food on the menu with some gluten free options. The chips are the best I've had at a pub & cooked to perfection. They do steak night on a Friday & Fish & chips on Thursday which are both good value special offers. The pub is close to the Shropshire border.
