I've been using Green DIY for about 30 years now. I prefer it over the B&Q/Homebase experience in that it bridges the gap between an old style ironmongers and the big DIY stores. Only need a couple of screws or whatever? They will sell what you need by weight so no need to buy bulk packs of screws etc that leave you with odd boxes of stuff you'll never use. There is still everything you need if you have a bigger project. Better still, you can say "I'm just nipping out to get some bits to finish 'that job'.." and then spend your time browsing the fishing tackle instead

Great DIY general store. Sells a wide variety of goods and single ironmongery items by weight. Friendly staff. Makes a pleasant change to support a good local business in the absence of the big chain stores. Convenient and recommended

A small unit but everything you need from home to garden and beyond, this place looks tiny but wow was pleasantly surprised, everything under one roof but best of all, staff smiles and extremely helpful....

Always helpful. They have a 10% for over 60s every Tues Wednesday and Thursday! If they had a small cafe on site they'd be a great place to go with garden loving friends.

Have updated my review as staff are generally more helpful now than before. The store normally has everything I need, although slightly more expensive than other places would be. Convenience I guess.

This is a little Aladdin's cave of items. Plenty of variety of DIY products. Unfortunately I did not get the multi tool blade pack that I went in for as it was out of stock. prices are competitive in general. Like most stores some items are more expensive than else where and some are cheaper. But over all a good shop with good variety.

Very handy for DIY jobs, slightly over priced for some items. I'll still come here first before going to other bigger stores.

Literally one of my favourite places. They always have everything you want - and you can go and buy one screw if you like, to solve that awkward problem. Local Hardware stores like this are so important and so much better that the big chain stores.

Prices are far too high, often 40-50% more than other outlets in the town.  Frequently the items required are out of stock To my mind their USP was friendly and knowledgeable staff, often older and semi- retired with excellent  DIY  experience.  Unfortunately, most of the staff now employed have none of the skills and few ideas about customer service.  It is now my place of last rather than first resort.  A shame.

This is a fine store, with a wide range of gardening/ decorating/ DIY goods along with outdoor BBQ type products. It's open seven days a week, and the staff are helpful , some quite knowledgeable and will always seek to find any shelf item. The pricing is competitive.
