Beautiful open space inbetween Chatham abd Gillingham. Great for walks, cycling as nd games with the children. Historical facts also interesting.

This is a large open space great for dog walking ,running , cycling , or just having a walk . You can see Chatham and beyond from the hill great for kite flying a nice space to spend a while in thought is the war memorial near the steps and path down to Chatham it s a quiet beautiful place of peace. In the summer you can see football matches on Sunday and some cricket matches too the top half of the lines is left to grow tall to encourage breeding birds etc . The Saturday near the 5th of November the council with the royal engineers put on a free fireworks display bonfire and carnival rides. All in all a nice open free space in the middle of a busy town. Just take any litter home or put in the many bins to keep it clean and tidy

Lovely place for a leisurely relaxing walk. There's a hard core path right through the middle very handy if it's raining. I dropped a friend at the hospital for a blood test and rather than pay for parking I popped down to the park and had a lovely stroll round waiting for them to finish.

Great for walking the dog or playing ball games. Can be "breezy". Fort Amherst is by the monument.
