Beautiful historic environment smack in midst of town. Wonderful gardens to relax in, great interactions with informative guides and volunteers, and museum has new exhibition about the First Folio. Restrooms: Disabled facilities
A beautiful place to go and visit I especially like the tree with the leaves that you can get engraved. I have since brought my own one so I can be in Shakespeares garden forever. I really love this place as you can allow for your mind to go for wonder and think about how life would have been back there for people in shakespearian time. Really loved taking a walk around here even if it was rainy when I went it is still beautiful to go around.
If you have a full day, you can probably comfortably squeeze this into your Shakespeare tour, but it's hardly a must-see location. The house that the bard lived in during his last days was torn down in the 18th century by a grumpy clergyman haunted by a parade of visitors hoping to spy Shakespeare's ghost and goods. The tree Shakespeare himself planted is also gone. Still, it is a lovely ornamental gardens and a worthwhile place to see if you've the time. Definately a recommend spot for locals. The gardens are more geometric than most English gardens, though I understand it's not as manicured as it was in pre-pandemic days. Good array of plant genera for a garden of its size and some neat statuary feature in the garden.
I expected to be disappointed as there is no house, but the gardens are a delightful haven of calm.
Interesting little place. The gardens can be skipped if on a time crunch. They are beautiful gardens, but not a highlight of what Stratford Upon Avon offers overall.
Lovely tranquil gardens and small museum, on one of Stratford's busiest streets. But step inside and you'd think you were in a the country. Beautiful !!
Brilliant sculptures and the attendants give a good sense of the history
Lovely garden - a place to sit and linger. Not huge amounts to do though with children, although there are some nice bits for kids in the exhibition space inside.
Warm welcome and explanation about the deeds to the house. Interesting 15 minute talk by young guide very engaging. Mulberry from the rumoured descendant of Shakespeare's mulberry tree was tasty ;
One of the nicest small gardens I've been to. There are excellent free tours and the staff are very helpful.
