We were visiting Girvan for the day and looked for somewhere to have a dinnertime meal, we parked in the car park at the harbour entrance and noticed the Harbour Cafe and so decided to give it a go, we were met at the door by a very friendly staff member and shown to a table, we were 4 adult's and the table was a little small however we managed, we were given menus and decided to have the fish tea 2 fish this was fish, chips, peas or beans, bread and butter and either tea or coffee all for £9.80, great value. It didn't take long to arrive and it was a good plate full, the fish batter was light and crisp and the chips were light and fluffy not greasy at all, the mushy peas were great home soaked not processed out of a tin, we all enjoyed our meal and would go again
We come here regularly for a sit in fish tea. Excellent quality plenty to eat, a great choice of meals. Staff are very friendly and give you a great welcome. Can't beat the small fish supper with mushy peas, bread and butter and cuppa tea. Give this great wee place a try, you won't regret it.
Went on the spur of the moment and were met with a friendly smile and hello. Great service and delicious food. My husband had the blaggis which he said was very tasty and I had the 'small' fish tea. Small the portion was not. A huge, hot crispy plateful and the best homage mushy peas. Would highly recommend.
£9.80 for 2 large fish chips peas or beans pot of tea slice of bread great value for money in this day and age proper fish tea lovely staff lovely food would defo go back thank you
Wee drove 1hour 30 minutes just to go here Fritters were fabulous and the spicy Goujons and the sauce the gutl fr6the chip shop advised was absolutely gorgeous and the dun came out too top it all. Very friendly staff and cheap as chips definitely worth every mile and every penny.
Great food in this wee Cafe, the fish and chips are excellent, cheap and cheerful and easily much better than any McBurger place. The staff were lovely, polite and friendly
I live in Blackpool and work around Scotland and Ireland and always stop here fantastic food always great service from a good team of people many thanks . There's only one thing there needs to be a toilet on site then you would be the best chip shop in ScotlandFood: 5/5
We had the misfortune to visit the Harbour Cafe in Girvan today. Firstly the service was appalling we waited 45mins without receiving the fish and chips we ordered. They were more interested in serving take aways We had waited about 35mins and only received the drinks we had ordered, when a family arrived with 2 dog's. Whilst I appreciate it's the owners perogative to allow dogs on the premises I believe there should be a sign stating this on the doorway. So those with allergies and concerns for hygiene in the cafe can choose whether to go in or not. When these people arrive the table next to us of 3 people immediately left, had we not have been served our drinks at this point we would also have left. 1 or 2 minutes later a second table of 4 people left. One dog was lying under an adjacent table and the other was lying in the passageway between the table's, this dog then started licking the floor ? At this point we were disappointed and disgusted so we left. A total of 9 people left as a result of these dogs. One would think that with covid still being rife hygiene would be of paramount importance!! Obviously not to the Harbour Cafe and its staff dogs don't lick clean floors do they ? I will certainly never be back in this cafe. Woeful service and dubious hygiene standards. I hope you believe letting dogs in is worth the loss of customers.
Amazing cafe. They allow dogs and serve great quality food. Great if your on holiday in this part of Scotland. The staff are amazing
