Lovely station.nPublic facilities are good.nI'm visually impaired and they go the extra mile to make sure I feel safe and well looked after.nThe staff are very friendly, helpful and polite.nThey made me feel like I was a valuable person.
Old but modernised train station just off Garrick bus stop. Strategically located and services multiple route within South East and London. Readily available trains to all locations. About 3-4 within every hour. Trains are always on time. Friendly staff too.
Nice station with high-speed HS1 services to London St Pancras International - but needs an extra gate or two on the platform 2 side!nDuring peak times the bottleneck can unfortunately cause quite a bit of slowdown to people exiting the station.nnPlease note there are TWO exits/entrances to this station. The Gravesend town centre side Plat 2 with the station carpark Clive Road and the south side Plat 0 where a pickup/drop-off area is located Rathmore Road. You can still be picked up or dropped off on the north side but the south side has better infrastructure to support it.nnThe platforms are numbered oddly 0, 1, 2, this is due to the addition of an extra platform and for some reason the decision was made not to re-number the platforms, likely to save on signage costs. The platforms really ought to be numbered: 1, 2, & 3.nnAs for refreshments: The ‘Cafe Local’ station café is overpriced and the coffees have a slightly odd taste.nI'd recommend instead trying the Aero Coffee shop which is just outside the station around the corner from the Platform 0 exit. Alternatively, if you have time, venture out into the town centre via the platform 2 exit and you'll have access to a wide range of coffee options, from independent to chain. I wouldn't bother with the station vending machines as they're overpriced, but if you are in a rush and feel the need to use a vending machine, then they can be found on both sides of the station.
Many trains to London & Ramsgate. Great service by Thameslink & Southeastern. Much better after the make over with adding lifts n footbridge. Even thought staff is NOT friendly but still overall station is good.
The service at Gravesend train station is absolutely terrible. There is never anyone at the ticket counter, no matter what time you go. It’s a big station, yet there’s no staff available to sell tickets or give proper information about train times. The staff that are around seem completely uninformed and unhelpful — it feels like nobody knows what’s going on.nnIt’s a complete disgrace that we have to pay such high and constantly rising ticket prices, and yet there’s no proper service provided. Someone should always be at the desk to assist passengers, especially in a station of this size. The situation is unacceptable and really disappointing.
