Food is nicely plated, but the flavours are a bit hit and miss. My Vitello Tonato was very bland and the tomahawk was very average. The biggest letdown is the service. Our waiter from Rome was very arrogant and obnoxious. We tried Mimi's in Weybridge as well and I would choose Mimi's over Grappelli every time.
Drove nearly an hour from central London to try this place, amazing experience, lovely restaurant, the food was extremely tasty! Thanks to Francesco for looking after us, Giampiero who was always checking that we were happy with our choices and the Chef Carmine who came out to meet us! Thank you for a great experience.
Every time we go we have such a lovely experience. The food is always great and even though not explicitly demonstrated on the menu have always been able to accommodate for both vegetarian and vegan dietary requirements whilst still serving delicious food.nnA special shoutout to Francesco who has always gone above on beyond when he has been our server. Always super friendly and helpful.
Drove over an hour to this restaurant, sad to say I won't be going again. Unfortunately the food was nothing above average. Taste was very standard, nothing fantastic, not worth the travel. Service was okay. I would say not enough staff during the rush hour, having to wait and flag down waiters/waitresses. Atmosphere was very nice, chilled, relaxing, slight music, very nice to sit and eat, although bit small as my chair including others were knocked into by staff and the trays pushing around the fish and cheese roll. The price was the shocking part 2 people with starters, mains, and a small dessert. £170! Quite ridiculous. Overall 3* definitely had better, cheaper and closer to my home.
This is the second time I've paid Grappelli a visit, and although I have nothing to complain about the food or the service this is also the second time that I was unlucky enough to be sat next to a couple of regulars. It is honestly shocking how you allow such people in your 'fine dinning' restaurant, a man who kept punching the table and screaming curse words not minding kids around, we had to leave early because my younger daughter was terrified of such behaviour. The servers were very apologetic about it as if it was their own fault, so I hope the owners can evaluate the situation and realise that allowing this kind of people in is unacceptable!
