Stopped off here last month for a Sunday roast and pleased I did, it was fantastic. A choice of beef, lamb and pork, and they didn't tie you to one, I opted for beef and pork. A good array of vegetables and a gravy boat which I failed to capture in my photo. All cooked perfectly, plentiful and delicious, and the staff were brilliant.
A Sunday afternoon out in Appleby. Staff very pleasant and chatty. Was driving, so no drinking. They did have, Strongbow, John Smiths and a larger on draught though. Was quite when there. Meals were well cooked and a full plate given. Worth a visit, recently taken over 2020 and being updated when possible.
Called here today for Sunday lunch and it is still as good as the last visit eight months ago. Value for money very good quality fare and served most efficiently. The interior of this establishment is lacking a little but the food & service makes up for this.
Had a wonderful meal here where the prices were extremely reasonable the food was delicious and there was plenty of it. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, experienced both by myself and other customers present. The staff were so friendly and I would make an effort to come back here for sure.
Living in the US it's hard to find a proper Sunday Roast. We were staying nearby at the Center Parcs and I decided to meet my brother from Durham in Appleby at The Grapes for lunch. This was exactly what I was looking for. The lamb and beef were amazing, the Yorkshire was perfectly done and the proprietor just made it all better. Huge thanks to the guy behind the bar, I'm sorry I never got your name but I did get the selfie!
Me and my fiancé thought the food was out of this world and the staff was lovely And the location of the restaurant was beautiful Looks just like a little pub and is abit small inside but you have to try it it's amazing, highly recommend If we are ever in Cumbria again we will definitely come back X
Just visited this pub for are Sunday roast Everything was frozen and cooked in the microwave what a waste of £37-85 absolutely disgusting Ate it as we were starving after camping all weekend Drinks were flat never again
Great place to eat, lovely people, food, out of this world and prices very competitive. We will be back.
This was a detour on way home from Chorley, we stopped at Appleby and dropped in unexpected, the portions exceeded expectations and the price was very reasonable. Would recommend
Absolutely fabulous. Very warm and personalised welcome. Food amazing. Definitely recommend.
