51 years ago, I studied A-level at the College for a year and eventually admitted to Imperial College London. My Maths teacher, Mrs Simmon and English teacher, Mrs Stober taught me a lot and I am most greatful to them.
As a former student of Grantham College I cannot tell you how much I recommend the Media department. Not only did I get provided with a substantial amount of support, I was also offered opportunities for work experience that I would have gotten no where else. Throughout my three years there I was able to gain enough experience to go straight into work, something that is extremely difficult within the creative industry. They truly guided me and supported me through every aspect of studies and outside life, and I have gotten a strong foundation for the rest of my career. The BTEC course was all coursework based, which reflects the real world within this industry so much better than exams, we get a real brief, research, develop and produce, no exams, no studying, because that will never effect the real film and media industry. I have also heard many of my peers which took a university route are well above in skill and experience than those from other schools that took different courses like A levels . I could not express my gratitude for this college and Steve and Dave enough.
As a student at Grantham college I have experienced several things that I do not like one the tutors does nothing and Constantly has a go at me for no reason second I have several rumours going around about me and there is more than just one also I only enjoy my infill course and I only went here due to it being close also I have reported the rumours and the bullying I haveing to put up with and it is everyday I have also experienced name calling harassment and threats with physical abuse I have said this to the tutors and the safe guarding people and also the students that do this make it impossible to learn what I need to and they have not been kicked out also they have taken photos of me and I have asked the college to ask them to take them down due to personal reasons but they are still up and on social media
It was a wonderful day to have such this culture day in Grantham college
I am a student at Grantham College and I just want to say that so far my experience is terrible the reason I think this is because some of the teachers are not very unkind to me they are rude , have goes at me for no reason , they try and tell me what to do outside of college when it has nothing to do with them and I think that they are control freaks. They have Evan taken it as far as blackmailing me and they have also discriminated against me because I have a disability and I’m not they happy with the teachers that have done these things to me and I am going to be making a formal complaint against them.nSo I don’t recommend that you go here I am not saying the same things will happen to you but there is a chance that it could.
