Finally something open on a Sunday. Driving through as we drive around Wales up to north England. Everything closed and happened upon this place. It was just one woman there, she was lovely! Took our order, cooked our food and everything. She did so well considering she was on her own and doing everything. The food was delicious and well priced! Only thing would be to have some light music in the early mornings so it’s not so quiet felt awkward to talk. But other than that, great little cafe
Having visited this tea room two yrs ago with a great experience, today’s visit was dreadful. The young girl serving was polite but the young staff were totally inexperienced and how to do table service.nThey brought a small teapot which half filled a mug and half filled a cup.nMy sister ordered a potato pancake, it was over cooked and very dry, not put in front of her with cutlery just left at the end of the table, she wasn’t asked either if she would like a sauce. My order was forgotten, when I chased them up my omelette was dry and burnt I couldn’t eat it. I left the whole thing,nWe were charged full price for poor food and service.nSuch a difference from 2 years ago where my experience was excellent.
Lovely fresh food. One of our party had an issue ordering and staff kindly arranged a bespoke breakfast for them. 10/10!
Fantastic place for good food and genuinely friendly service. The waitress's chatted to the clientele and chef who brought our food out chatted about the local provenance of the eggs, we both had double yolks! Happened to be driving through and found on Google maps. Great find, much bigger than you expected from seeing the outside, nice comfy seats if you prefer. Looked like a family run business, it was lovely to see them all enjoying what they did, lovely service, excellent large pieces of cake with delicious coffee and they did decaff. Would recommend.
