Played the course 3 weeks ago with friends and was pleasantly surprised. Good layout and the condition was good for this early in the year. Fairways on 11 and 12 are recovering and work to fix the limited crow damage is ongoing. Very good value booked on BRS, £15 each, and will certainly come back as can see it will get better into the coming months
Perfect little getaway, hot tub too! Didn’t visit the club house only to pick up and drop off keys. So didn’t eat here. Got a good deal, hot tub checked every morning. The lodge was very clean. One thing I would have liked for comfort was some curtains on the patio doors aprt from that I can’t fault this place. Just tucked on the edge of a golf course - great location to other activities
Top place, very friendly golf club, course in good condition, food in clubhouse is excellent, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, highly recommendedRooms: 5/5
Stayed in one of the lodges , it's was huge , could easy fit 6 adults in , place didn't smell the best when we opened the door , wife always brings candles anyway , WiFi was superfast, think the lodge could do with a deep clean , missing a tv in the bedroom...but that may be just my preference , if you're going with dogs like me .. a short drive to Bottesford Beck Linear Park takes you to a crystal clear lake at Ashby Ville Nature Reserve...club house on the golf course has lovely staff and reasonable prices for drink ...wasn't impressed with the food though
Paid £15 for a round of golf and, at that price, I was happy that I got good value. Had it been £30, I'd have been grumbling about the rough patches on the greens.
Golf course probably the worst I've played in the last 30 years. Fairways are basically just fields.... Horrendous. Greens were bobbly and poorly maintained. Staff were polite in the clubhouse and food was decent enough.
We went golfing Sunday the course was nice But the pace of play was disgusting putting it kindly We ended up playing only 13 holes because the etiquette of the players was also disgusting it spoiled a good day
Great place for a celebration. My brother recently got married there. Not cheap but a decent wedding never is !! All the staff were lovely and very polite. The canopies, drinks and meals were delicious and the bar prices very competitive. Apparently the golf is great too, but not something I'm into but I trust the fellas views.
Lovely place to stay if you want to chill and want quiet. My wife and I stayed in a lodge it's big enough for 6 people easily. 3 bedrooms have plenty of space lounge and kitchen is open plan with a door leading onto a balcony perfect to sit and chill or have a bbq. My wife wasn't satisfied with how clean our cabin was. She cleaned the kitchen and toilets and was surprised how dirty they were. We would definitely stay there again it so peaceful. Lodge definitely needs painting to freshener them up. The downfall to the lodges are too many spider webs inside and out. Any kids or adult who don't like spiders wouldn't like staying there. The golf course is definitely worth a play. Fairways are acceptable but very dry due the lack of rain. The green's are very good and fast couldn't fault them. Its definitely a challenging course but I totally enjoyed playing on it I definitely recommend playing golf. The bar staff are very friendly and polite. My wife and I are looking to going back next year.
This review is based on the golf course and associated facilities. What an absolute MESSingham! This is probably the worst condition I have seen any golf course in at this time of year in my life!! I am used to not being able to find the fairway with my tee shots but I’ve never not been able to find it with my eyes. They had clearly not been cut for a very long time. But worse than just being long, there were tufts of grass surrounded by bare patches making it a lottery as to what sort of lie you’d get. Tee boxes were equally as bad. Greens were actually pretty decent, although many were littered with little weeds. At least they ran pretty true. 2 holes were that waterlogged the cups were completely full of water, which was surprising for early September. I don’t fancy it’s chances through the winter. Didn’t find the layout that interesting. Couldn’t really pick any standout signature holes. I’m not really familiar with the rest of the venue, but it seems like golf is at the bottom of the pile for investment. Hopefully they get their act together although I’ll not be coming back to find out.
