I missed coming here. We booked to come for 11 o clock but surprisingly got here 40 min earlier. We were allowed to go early. Changing room was as I remember. It was clean. Toilets were somewhat clean. Can't fault the kids pool and jacuzzi tub. We couldn't sadly stay longer to use the big pool as we came early so needed to leave early. We had fantastic 40 min which flew by.
Can’t fault the swimming lessons so far, changing facilities are awful the doors barely lock, people leave clothes in the cubicles. Showers are awful, then you get two hours free parking. More fool me for trying to have some fun with the kids before my eldest swimming lesson. Went over the 2 hours by 5 minutes and was charged full price in the car park rather than for the extra hour. They don’t disclose this is the case though. Not exactly easy to manage 2 under 2 from the car park getting changed and back to the car park. Carrying one and the other two walking to be charged full price rather than having the 2hours free parking deducted. Maybe pram facilities should be provided to make this easier and encourage people who use public transport to enjoy to. Where would they leave a pram if using public transport? Not very well thought out unfortunately so unless it happens to you, it isn’t something you think of. So this review is to hopefully stop someone else being caught out the same way.
The whole swimming area needs a good clean, also the main pool is so cold. Spent the entire hour in the hot tub with my 6 year old cause he didn’t wanna be freezing. Also had the pleasure of sitting next to a bloke who was picking his toenails in the hot tub for a good 10 minutes. So overall my review is cold and gross
On the positive side, this is one of the few pools in Greater Manchester with slides. My daughter loves the lights in the slides and being able to choose the music. The baby area is fantastic and I wish I knew about it when my daughter was younger. Its really warm and engaging, plus there's the jacuzzi. Its a really cheap day out too. Areas for improvement: The whole place just feels grubby and in need of a REALLY deep clean. There are not enough cubicles or showers. The splash pool from the slides is too shallow for the speed the slides go, I scraped my elbow on the bottom of the pool upon landing and required first aid. The showers have a mind of their own alternating between hot and cold.
Oasis splash was fun with my 3 year old. We have been going once in a while since lockdown and she loves all the fountains and the little slide. Changing facilities are average. Lockers you need £1 for. Nice way to pass a miserable morning We often stop at the station to have a picnic and watch trains afterwards.
Sons pool party was a shambles, the staff all gave me different answers to enquiries before the party, we was given no time to decorate or put the food out in the party room before the kids came innon of it is provided by them few floats and rings in the pool for the kids, there was an inflatable assault course the kids weren't allowed on as they wasn't strong enough swimmers, the staff were present whilst kids were in pool but as soon as we entered the party room they'd all vanished couldn't even ask anyone how to use the music centre, what time we needed to leave and thank god we had no accidents because we'd of been on our own. Due to having 0 time to set the party room up and the staff all telling me different things like when we could decorate the room and who provides what I would strongly recommend using another pool. It caused so much unnecessary stress and feel the staff couldn't of cared less I did have one point out I'd of had a better experience had I paid for platinum which was the icing on the cake really.
Great swimming pool with good facilities for spectators for galas and events. Changing rooms are messy, and not cleaned thoroughly, which spoils the experience. General maintenance seems to be variable. There are issues with validation of car park tickets for neighbouring NCP at Stockport Exchange which must be addressed. The two hours discount for users is not being applied as advertised.
Warning regarding contracts... I signed up to a swimming contract to be able to take my baby swimming whilst my older child has his swimming lessons. Due to remedial work in the pool my son's swimming lessons haven't been charged since December and the date for the completion of the remedial work has consistently been pushed back. I have tried to cancel my swimming contract due to not being able to access the facilities yet have been told I cannot cancel. I believe this to be unreasonable given the contract I signed was based on a service and facilities that I am no longer able to access.
Most of lockers broken. Complicated as had to carry all my stuff from one locker to different locker . It was difficult giving assistance to my blind friend cause of lockers. Getting in and out of pool was tricky could do with updating disability have a slope going down to pool are actual steps rather than stair steps . I like pool but prefer if there was more adult only sessions. Should also have adult only slides open. As most adults love to be big kids . Spa jacuzzi tock ages to come on . Solarium did not work Steam room was ok Sauna nice and hot . Shower cold bucket not work . I it been upgraded but not much difference from 24 years ago in fact I think it was better in 2000.
Big poo and a kids pool and a jacuzzi, with 2 slides, reasonably priced. 2 hours validated parking in the nearby NCP car park. Can book online or just show up on the day.
