Being a bodybuilder I had been struggling with knee pain for over 5 years when lifting, I had been to many physiotherapists in the region, but none of which have cured my knee pain. James at the clinic had customised insoles made for me. It has now been 6 months of wearing them and my knee pain has gradually disappeared, to the point where I actually can' believe how good my knees feel. I highly recommend James and the whole team at the clinic.
I first started to see Kate Bryce at the clinic a couple of months ago as I had been suffering with vertigo attacks for over a year and was getting no further forward with my local GP so I decided to seek private medical help. Kate has been absolutely amazing. I was blown away with her thorough initial assessment and her genuine interest in getting to the bottom of my issues. The amount of care not only during appointments but afterwards with phone calls/emails to ensure I was managing okay and how my symptoms had been has been really comforting. This has allowed me to get back to day to day life with the knowledge that I can reach out and get help if anything reoccurs. She is incredibly good at what she does and is such a lovely person. If you are suffering from dizziness do not think twice about booking an appointment. These people are the experts and know exactly how to help you. My only regret is not going to see her sooner! Thank you so so much!
Really friendly service, very knowledgeable, but for the price paid, the massage was not very good. Please bare in mind I've been to a lot of different sports therapists and shiatsu specialists for this type of treatment, so I've experienced a fair number of different techniques. I imagine judging by the other reviews that the rest of the physio and wellness services provided here are top notch, but unfortunately the massage left a lot to be desired. There was barely any manipulation of the tissue it wasn't a deep tissue at all and I left feeling like I'd paid for an expensive back rub that lasted just over 25 minutes 40 minute session by the time we'd spoken at the beginning and at the end. Can't fault how approachable and understanding the discussion and knowledge was, but I walked out feeling very disappointed. A real shame, as I don't like to leave bad reviews, but I have to be honest. **Following reply from Gosforth Physio 30/04/22 Thanks for the reply, but what you've put is misleading to anyone reading my review. Firstly, I had actually paid for a 'deep tissue massage', and nowhere had I described my previous treatments with other specialists as aggressive. What these specialists did do was manipulation of the muscle groups and indeed trigger points, effectively enough that upon leaving a session, some relief was felt, so I disagree that their treatments do no work. These pains/trigger points will always return after some time due to the nature of my desk based job and the fact that adopting a perfect posture is not possible. However no trigger points were touched or even manipulated to provide any relief, neither were any of the larger muscles groups, barely any pressure was applied, hence why I described the deep tissue massage that I booked more like a 'back rub'. I had to actually point a solid trigger point out myself. Pilates and other preventative measures as mentioned will of course help to maintain better posture and avoid the need for as many massages, but a massage is designed to help relieve tension or pain if only temporarily, by kneading the muscles/manipulating the joints, but this did not happen in my session. Again, this is an honest experience that I've shared. It's a shame that Gosforth Physio have took the defensive angle, quoting stats and figures, rather than appreciating that sometimes a bad review could actually reflect truth, and the fact that people who aren't happy tend not to speak out.
I couldn't feel more lucky or fortunate to have found Gosforth Physio & Wellness. I contacted the clinic in regards to my feelings of dizziness and loss of balance. Kevin called me first and he was the first person along my journey of discovering what was going on to empathise with me and make me feel like it wasn't all in my head. He then connected me with Kate, the falls and dizzy specialist on his team, who is the real hero of this story. She has been my rock and saviour through this journey, and I'll never be able to thank her enough for all she's done for me. She's taken care of me as if I was one of her long time friends - checking up on me to make sure I'm okay knowing I'm not from the UK and have no family here and extending her network to get further advice for me. She concluded that I have Vestibular Migraines and PPPD. She also helped me with my feelings of disassociation and gave me a safe space to be upset when struggling with those feelings. I've already recommended this clinic to a number people and will never stop singing their praises. Thank you for everything.
I have started online pilates after the lockdown measures. The zoom call was easy to start and Kev makes the lessons clear to follow and fun. We do it as a whole family now. Perfect antidote to the COVID-19 lockdown.
Gosforth Physio and Wellness has had a very positive effect on my life. Initially, I had great treatment for a painful thigh and took up Kevin's suggestion of Pilates classes to strengthen my body to prevent further problems. I have found these very effective indeed. I have rheumatoid arthritis and this has affected my joints. Recently James has worked very extensively on my feet and has made a miraculous difference to them. I totally recommend Gosforth Physio and Wellness. You will find the whole staff team professional and friendly and I am very confident that they will do their utmost to assist you.
Used GP&W for years, I can't see any reason why you'd want to use any other physio than these guys. I've been fixed and needled and repaired numerous times. They not only fix you, but they drill down to find the root cause so that following treatment, you know how to avoid reoccurrence going forwards. Great team, great service.
Having had lower back pain for most of my adult life I've been treated by countless physios, chiropractors and osteopaths... James was the first one who gave me a realistic and achievable way out! He made me realise that with a minimal the investment for a few months I could be pain free. It has been a couple of months and I am not quite pain free but I feel a million times better and there is clear light at the end of the tunnel. Could not be happier. : Bring on 2019!
I have been to Pilates classes before, but this is the best by a mile. Kevin,James and Chris are without doubt the best instructors I have ever had! The classes are small 8-10 max and the exercisers tailored personally to my needs and level. I am now running and playing cricket pain free for the first time in 2 years. The studio is beautifully clean, light, fully equipped and all classes run by top level physios at the top of their game.
I've had chronic pain for approximately 20 years. I've seen several physio's, chiropractors and massage therapists throughout the years with little to nil results. I began seeing Kevin in the summer of 2016 and within a few months the difference in how I felt was like night and day. He would constantly reassess me as if I was a new patient instead of sticking with his initial assessment. He took the time to educate me so that I understood what was going on. He's a problem solver and has proven that he can produce results. His compassion and commitment to helping people also echos throughout the staff members of the clinic. Highly recommended......... He also has great hair :
