Very good library with excellent location and plenty of parking places. Very helpful and tireless team, nice to deal with. Part of a bigger network, with well advanced methods and access to ebooks. Very recommended and always pleased after dealing with them.
A quiet, warm welcoming place to read, study, and work. The librarians are extremely polite and helpful, assisting in any way they can. A good spot!
Sadly the library is not open much in fact it’s open less than 24hrs over a working week due to budget cuts. Other than that nicely in order. Plenty of books, leaflets, papers and cheap coffee vending. Fairly quiet too! Shhh! Children’s books always freshly stocked often with new books too!
Lovely place, nice for kids, some story time and nursery songs, will be nice for more activities for children, friendly stuff, just dont like the opening hours... open 10, Monday and Thursday closed, on Wednesday till 2
Closed more times than it is open thanks to austerity cuts! I have fond memories of growing up in the early 90's and weekend trips to the library to get books out on loan. Shame young children of this generation miss that.
I came here looking for a quiet place to study. Totally useless. They have a play area for children out front with lots of kids running around, screaming, crying etc. I love kids, but not during my study time! Most of the tables were occupied with people reading newspapers. Fair enough, but when people talk, they don't keep their voices down. Not much point with the screaming children in the background! For a small library, they have a fair selection of books and the self-checkout is very much appreciated.
Decent stock of books for a local library with others available on request to pick up and great selection of DVDs. Photocopying on the expensive side, though major issue is the reduction in opening hours due to Council budget cuts. Staff friendly and willing to help if not always proactive as one would like.
An awful place to visit now due to the current unacceptable and draconian restrictions. I'm sorry to say the life has gone out of Gosforth Library and visiting the place is an oppressive, downbeat experience. It's an annoying ordeal just to gain access inside with all the hand-sanitising, question-asking and mask-wearing. Only a lousy one hour on a PC is absolutely no good whatsoever and the comfortable atmosphere the property used to have is well and truly non-existent now. The council may as well have kept the place closed and i for one will be giving GL a wide berth from now on until the place goes back to it's former glory. Avoid!
Family friendly, Great kids book selection & reading area. Friendly, welcoming staff. Opening hours seem a bit random at times? But recommended
Usual good service from the friendly staff. Great library and well worth a visit.
