Normally, I don’t like to write negative reviews because I know how dependend businesses are of it. But this hotel is whack. The building itself is beautiful and the pictures shown here on Google are probably from older times when this hotel was at its peak. Today, it is like a lost place. My room stank like „old person“, the water pressure in the shower is a joke, the stains on the carpet photographed and postet by a commenter here 8 months ago are still there. Not for that price, or not ever again! PS: breakfast was nice tho.
We only stayed at the hotel due to the roads all around Huntly being impassable due to the weather. The room we stayed in was clean and warm but in need of updating, hence the poorest rating of the 3. The service was however 1st class, mostly due to the incredible manager Amy. She worked her socks off to get all the stranded people a room for the night and advised where people gould get food as the hotels chef was not available. Breakfast was great whether it was a different chef or all the staff mucked in, who knows or cares as it was excellent
Due to road closures, we had to find accommodation quickly. Staff were exceptional considering the circumstances. Lots of people stranded & they went above and beyond to help & accommodate everyone. Would highly recommend. Such a warm friendly atmosphere.Rooms: 4/5
It’s more a bed & breakfast then a hotel, it has a new owner that is trying really hard to renovate and keep the place in better shape. The rooms are ok, bed is comfortable but the setting is more like a 2 stars. All the staff are amazing they will go out of their way to help and make you welcome, and the bar attached to the hotel “Cheers” is almost like the infamous cheers bars with the local and everyone is welcome and had a great selection of alcohol. They have a very nice traditional breakfast but only if you make it on time, the last day of my stay there was no meats left so got two eggs and toast Thank you for making my stay welcome
This hotel must be avoided at all costs until some drastic renovations takes place. Our party of 10 5 rooms had booked for two nights to attend a wedding locally. One hour before we arrived we were informed that two of the rooms had been flooded and the two couples would be moved to the bunk house, when they went to see it it was absolutely filthy, on top of that they were told to keep the exterior door locked as homeless people sometimes use it. One couple booked into a guest house close by the other travelled back to Aberdeen to travel back for the wedding next morning. The other 3 couples had no option but to stay in the hotel which was like a haunted house, the place was deserted no reception no bar only a really bad smell. Cheerz the cafe bar next door was where we had to collect the keys. When we got to the room it smelt better but there was no water coming through the sink taps and the water in the shower was scalding hot, no temperature control. We came back from a brilliant wedding to find the bed wasn't made up and no fresh towels. We went next door to Cheerz for breakfast which was all freshly made and hot and the staff were really nice, the only good thing about our stay. Rooms: Awful
Not worth the money at all.135£. top price is 50£ per night. Bath curtain is full of mold. Bath rack is almost broken. Only soap is available for your hand, hair, body. Veeery low power in the shower. Woman receptionist was very rude, she's fed up with her job. Breakfast wasn't served that day, and they don't care it was included in the price. Room and bathroom are decent size.N°21 Not recommend and will deffo not back. I suggest to find hotel somewhere else, than this one.
Rooms small and dated. Ensuite tiny. Hot tap difficult to turn on/off. The door was off its bottom track. Management not willing to listen to our concerns. Service was slow at breakfast, very disorganised. Breakfast was however very nice and well cooked.Rooms: 1/5
No carpark for the hotel ,outside the hotel is pay and display from 8am-5pm and the side roads are free Check in is in the bar next-door, Most info given. Front of the hotel looks very very run down and the inside is in need of repair in some places. The room was up two flights of stairs . It was a small room and shower room was smaller! Breakfast included and absolutely spot on but served in the pub next door. They Don't do evening meals but there's a couple of restaurants and takeaways close by. Unsure if it WiFi! Shower was ok Bed comfortable enough Thin curtains lets to much light in The fire alarm went of at 4:15am so an early wake up call ! The price they were asking was at £120 but it was definitely not worth the price!! More around the 50 pounds mark would be more suitable!
Out for a birthday lunch with friends. The food was really good. We'll worth waiting for. Poor chef was on his own and did really well.Service: 5/5
Was here for an early supper in the Gordon Arms Hotel Lounge after being in the area for a day out. We arrived before our table booking so went next door to the bar and outside beer garden to wait - staff in bar were very helpful and advised us when table was ready in main hotel lounge. Food was excellent with a hearty portion in all 3 of my courses and at a great price. The Chef's cheesecake of the day was excellent and I would highly recommend. The Bar/Lounge area with some light background music was a nice atmosphere to enjoy our post meal coffees and chat. Staff were very helpful and polite.
