Nice to see a place busy at lunch time. I ordered 2 haddock & chips to take away. Haddock was lovely, moist and very tasty. Chips were okay, nowadays you don’t get chips with a good colour on them. Only complaint was the chips were a bit scrappy. Staff nice and friendly, place looked nice and clean.
Staff really friendly and food was served nice and hot, fresh and didn't wait long at all. Lively big seating area to eat whilst it was raining outside. Def worth going for a decent fish and chips.Food: 5/5
Haddock was delicious, moist and in lovely crispy batter, tasty chips, portions were too big for us to finish! Staff were very helpful too. Will definitely go back.
Tiny portion of chips for £2.40 which I have attached a picture of and the most miserable young blonde lady serving....I've used Goodies for years and this takes the mickey....I will be going to Totton fish far from now on as they at least smile when they take your money and you get a decent sized portion for less moneyFood: 2/5
As an avid lover of fish and chips, Getting it right is important. I've been to 30+ Different Chippies over the last 3 years.. I randomly stopped at Goodies Normally how the best stories start as I was passing by on my way to the new forrest and was Starving. You pull into the parking and are greeted by this beautiful looking Chippy with a wonderful shining red tile wall that looks like its been cleaned with a tooth brush, cant see a single spec of dirt anywhere. Suprised to see there was even a restaurant where you could go and sit down instead of having a take away, inside that restaurant? An absolutely amazing collection of Saints shirts, signed England shirts, pair of signed books and some boxing items. I walk in and am blown away by the smell coming from the cookers, greeted by some of the most friendly staff I've met in a chippy, lady proceeded to tell me how she loves the signed England shirt as she used to Fancy Michael Owen. The conversation was great, those staff made me feel welcome and like I was a regular. To the best part the food, pricing is good! Had a Haddock and chips and a Battered Sausage and chips with some curry Sauce. Wow.. amazing fish, incredible batter, It was juicy and succulent, portion was great too! Sausage was just as good, they even got the chips right well cooked nice and tasty potatoes, clearly taken time to source the best ingredients for their incredible chippy. I liked it so much I had to go back yesterday and wow.. hour before closing and their staff are just as friendly, after a full days work... Had a good conversation again.. Found out about a Sunday Roast carvery they plan on running, you can bet ill be there for that. Food was just as good, seems they are extremely consistent with the quality too. To the owner of the goodies fish and chips, you've got such an incredible team, keep them they made the experience that much better. Also heard your planning on experimenting with some different foods, Scallops would be amazing!! Hint hint Great food, honestly can't wait to come back again. TL;DR: GOTO GOODIES YOU WONT REGRET IT!!! Kid-friendliness: Staff were absolutely amazing with the kids there after school so friendly!! Parking: Loads of parking great location!
Decent food & decent knowledgeable staff, the young guy that served us was friendly & helpful. Fish & Chips is not a cheap meal anymore/anywhere but I always find Goodies good quality & the restaurant clean. Kid-friendliness: Kids options. Parking: Can usually park.
Went for dinner with my mum Friday night. You have the choice to sit in a little resturant and eat or take away. We chose to sit in and its lovely. Surrounded by Saints memorabilia and signed shirts. Food is brought to you quick and the service is friendly. Goodies Fish and Chips is delicious as always. I've done the take away a few times as well and is safe, quick and good. Currently they ask you to wait outside for collection but they are so quick as their service it doesn't matter. 100% recommend. Been going since I was a child.
Came for the gluten free evening , my wife needs gluten free and bam Dave is in the good books thanks goodies where be back againFood: 5/5
Overpriced and tiny portions, I was absolutely disgusted with the service. Such a shame I have lived here all my life and remember when this was a fantastic chippy. I will get my chips elsewhere in future.
I ordered two fish cake and chips meals as there were two of us, I also wanted extra fishcake and sausage which I was charged £6.20 minus the£2.00 chips. Almost £4.00.for a fishcake! And £4.00 small battered sausage. When I asked about thus I was told rudely restaurant prices! Will not return!Food: 3/5
