The rudest cafe I've ever been to. If you are disabled or with someone elderly, please save yourself the pain of coming to this cafe. They refused a table to a disabled lady, as they told her she had to queue 'like everyone else' to order before sitting down, despite the fact she had a walking stick and could BARELY walk. On top of this, the "manager" of the cafe, doesn't take complaints- they aren't a thing apparently. She just refuses service when she doesn't like what you have to say. Very very disappointed at the staff's lack of understanding when it comes to disabilities.
Leaving a mixed review today as on previous visits it's been pretty good. Today however it was very poor and not addressed properly when I complained. Ordered tea and a panini and a hot baguette. Tea came very quickly. Hot baguette came out 10 minutes after tea finished but no Panini. Asked for all food to be served at same time. Baguette came back out twice more before I finally complained and was met with indifference. Finally 30 minutes after we had finished the tea, the panini arrived with the bacon and egg baguette that had been kept warm for about 20 minutes. This possibly isn't typical but a poor experience none the less. No apologies offered. Will probably look for somewhere else as an alternative
Seen some poor reviews about the staff, can honestly say we have never experienced this. We habe been coming here since it opened, always polite and helpful. Coffee and food is always great.
Ordered a coffee to take out. £3.45! I should have walked then but decided to risk it. It must be good for that price. It was very hot so couldn’t try it till on my way home. IT WAS AWEFUL! Won’t be going there again.
The rudest staff I have ever come across! One lady in particular, we were told not asked politely to sit down and they would come to us, we viewed the menu however we couldn’t see the hot drinks or cakes on offer so we wandered back inside to have a look, when we said we had looked and that we would go back to our normal to wait for service but in no rush, as we turned round the staff member was making gestures about us behind our back, once we approached her about it she completely denied all knowledge and then all of a sudden spent the rest of our experience non stop smiling and speaking softly to us as if we were to completely forget the previous incident.
Food was good price and value for money. Staff were friendly and quick! Don’t see why the stars are so low for this place. People are quick to complain but not quick to compliment. - great location for a breakfast and coffe!
Popped in for some tea and cakes, completely ignored by the two female staff members although we were stood in front of them at the counter...walked out without any acknowledgement its true what all the other reviews say about the rude staff. Still went to forest Lodge instead and had a lovely afternoon so thanks for being so bad....
We use this coffee/bakery shop as it is local to us, always a good coffee served by a polite young man not the male manager. I am saddened to see the staff are not setting an example by wearing face masks to protect the public & themselves of course also no plastic shields at the counter either. It is a shame that the toilet that is there is not in use for the general public when they are serving liquid refreshment, it does have a sign to say toilet not in use but staff are freely going in there. To use toilet facilities you have to go out of the coffee shop into cold then back in to the Country Market to use their facilities then back possibly to finish the coffee you have left. Not all the public can walk that distance or have the bladder control of a camel. Come on Taste Good please sort this out.
Last visit, left before being served as very unfriendly and unwelcoming atmosphere. Today the service was good, helpful, smiley server. Sausage roll massively overcooked and rock hard. Tea in paper cup. Loo's not in use. Why?? Not great really, will not be rushing back.
I was a regular customer here but its been allowed to go downhill badly. The food is poor as is the coffee now, the management are rude and unhelpful and the staff have had enough and have become rude aswell. The closed toilet is really not acceptable and using covid as an excuse is not good enough, the truth is they just don't want to clean it so keep it as a staff toilet. Hopefully the main restaurant will reopen soon and will be better quality
