I have recently had to change my anticoagulant because I was bleeding quite a lot. About three weeks ago, I was referred to a lady in the anticoagulant clinic at Good Hope Hospital, who is brilliant. She listened to my problem and decided that the medication I was on was too strong and so suggested a different one. I have just received a follow-up phone call from her. We discussed how I thought the new medication was working and she was really happy with what I was telling her. So, I want to say a huge "THANK YOU" to Victoria at Good Hope Hospital, Anticoagulant Clinic. You have been really helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. You're brilliant. Thanks again. Ian Nicholls.
I've had to stay at Good Hope Hospital several times for various treatments/surgery over the years. So has my youngest son. We’ve always been well cared for, before and after treatment/surgery. I have nothing but praise for the nurses, doctors, and administrative staff.
Upon arrival in the night i was met by this rude arrogant black male short hair who is extremely rude and unprofessional he was even asking another nurse to give him food and was on his phone most of the time If I could I would give zero stars this isn't a hospital this is a circus ran by nothing but selfish and arrogant people they didn't care about my diabetic mother who came. Made us wait til the next day and still they didn't do what we wanted at the end signed ourself out. Definitely won't be returning this place should be called good hope circus shame on you NHS for treating your tax paying patients the way you do.
I went in the day care for foot surgery, all the nurses, doctors, anaesthetist were fantastic, the nurses were always on the go looking after everyone. They were all polite and very helpful always checking my obs, asking if I needed anything, they were great. The receptionists were very pleasant when I got there. This was my first time at Good hope Hospital and I was looked after absolutely wonderful. All great nursing staff on the day. Well done to all those that helped. 10 out of 10.
I was a patient in the day care unit, from the moment I arrived I was treated with care and respect. Each member of staff went beyond their usual duties to make me feel comfortable and relaxed. A huge thank you to everyone at Good Hope Hospital xx
I want to say Thank you for the best members from A&E...în special for CathyReceptionShe make me feel like in my home. Congratulation woman...for proffesionalism and kindness. U deserve all the best in this word!!!
Unfortunately Good Hope Hospital has lost it's respect and dignity and authority are not bothered to improve. As long as they are getting big cheques every month that's all they bother about. Why do they need so many director's while there are no sign of improvement? They should invest on more doctor's and experienced nurses so that people will get the right & fast service. Waiting time is unimaginable and they don't understand people's mental health and wellbeing at all. I have a kind & sincere request to the Authority to get rid of some director's and invest on doctor's please and let's bring English old heritage back on track, also let's make a genuine change for the people & country.
I just had to post this short review following our attendance at Good Hope A&E last night. You hear lots of bad reports about the NHS, but all the A&E staff on duty last night were brilliant. My partner Sandra had had a fall at a nearby restaurant just before 9pm, and we were advised, because of her pain, to get checked out. We were checked in on arrival, and over the next hour interviewed, checked and tested including X-ray and CT scan by different staff. We then had to wait of course, we weren't expected and results take time to come through, before seeing a really great doctor, who said that apart from some severe bruising and swelling, nothing was broken, and she was discharged with some strong painkillers in just over 4 hours. Thank you Good Hope for all your care and attention. Keep up your good work.
I had a hip X-ray today at main X-ray 2.30 appt. I would like to thank the man that did the X-Ray and his assistant for being so lovely kind, caring and helpful. Very professional and patient
I slipped in the bath tub and I have got fractured two ribs. The ambulance left me at emergency at 1AM. There were a lot of people. One employee from entrance came to me, asked me why I am there, but he didn't listen me, tested my blood pressure and left me on the chair. After a while, because i was in pain and I started to feel sick, i asked them for a glass of water. He came to me and asked me again the reason I was there. I told him again the reason and with no rush, he went to bring me a glass of water, had a chat with his colleague, and finally, with no rush came to me with the water. After 10 minutes I asked someone else near me to tell them I will collapse, and that person did call them. No rush, again, I said, please, I will collapse and he asked me if I can walk. I said Nooo, I will collapse!!!! I need help. He took the chair. He told me to move to the mobile chair. I asked him to help me, because I couldn't get up from the chair I was on, but he refused, somewhat irritated, telling me to move to the chair. I was afraid that I would pass out and fall again, which could have been fatal. With an effort hard to imagine I managed to move to that chair. I was taken in a large silo and handed over to a nurse. This nurse was nice and after putting me in branula she took all my data and got me ready. Then I was taken into the salon with several sick people and medical personnel I sat down in a bed, but I had nothing to cover myself with. I was cold and after a while when the nurse passed by, I asked for a blanket. She asked very surprised, do you want a Blanket?! I said, yes, please. She brought me something that was supposed to be a blanket. She wanted to wrap me, but I asked her to wrap my legs only. In the upper part I wrapped myself in the robe I had come with from home. Another nurse who I understood was the head nurse repeated the tests done by the other nurse. Then she left. At 4 o'clock she came to me again, told me to open my mouth and gave me the morphine he swallowed from a plastic tube. I told her I needed to go to the bathroom, but I couldn't get up. I asked her to help me, but she said she couldn't because her side hurts too, looking at me with disdain. I asked her again to help me at least a little and finally she helped me a little. On the table next to me was like some sort of small cardboard basket and a plastic container very similar to the one she had given me the morphine from. She, leaving, told me something about that container, but I didn't understand what. After I came back from the bathroom, I thought that she told me to throw that ampoule in the trash, which I did. Then I managed to sit in bed and she came to bring me an infusion. Then she asked me about the urine test and I realized what she had told me. I apologized and told her I threw it in the trash. She said forget about it. I managed to fall asleep. A doctor came at about 5:30. She consulted me and told me that she is scheduling me for a scan. I asked her to stop my perfusion so I could go to the bathroom. She took of my perfusion and left. I struggled to get up again and saw an Asian assistant whom I asked to bring me another container for the urine test. He went to where the other nurse was and told her I asked for a test. From where I was, I couldn't see the people, but I could hear everything. Surprise! That nurse made me stupid!!!! I was never hospitalized. How was I supposed to know what happened to all those boxes, containers, etc.?! And that nurse went home and the shift changed. It was only then that I began to experience appropriate behavior from the medical personnel. I had a very bad experience in that hospital. I can understand that their work is stressful. But I also believe that you should not work in that environment, unless you know how to do your job with compassion and dedication.
