Welcome to Good Health TCM
TCM treats the causes rather than only the symptoms.
Dr Zhang graduated from Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China, 1995. He brings to Loughborough his knowledge, experience and skills in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) for treating many different conditions. Instead of prescribing pills, as in Western Medicine, Dr Zhang stimulates the body's own natural energy flow, called Chi (as in Chinese Exercise of Tai Chi, or Chi as in the Qigong exercise). It is this energy flow which maintains the body in optimum vitality and health. However, blockages restrict this energy flow, so a person’s vitality is greatly reduced and makes them susceptible to illness or disease.
The location of the blockage determines the nature of the illness and the organ(s) affected – although, as Dr Zhang points out, the blockage is often a long way from the affected organ. Dr Zhang is able to locate these blockages and then stimulate them, using a variety of techniques, so restoring the body’s energy flow. Western medicine focuses on blood flowing through the artery, vein and capillary circulatory system, carrying nutrients to, and waste products from, the millions of body cells. By contrast, TCM concentrates on the flow of Chi around the well-established energy meridians. In the Orient, these meridians have been known about, and mapped, for thousands of years. Chi, unlike blood, is invisible, but its effects are most evident through maintaining the health and vitality of the body in general, and specific organs in particular.
To diagnose your condition, Dr Zhang checks your pulse, not just to measure your heart beat rate, but using the oriental 3 finger technique to examine the condition of the various organs; for example, the heart, liver, kidney, stomach, spleen and lung, to determine whether they are strong or weak. He can also use acupressure to locate the blockage points in the energy meridians, and then, by stimulating these points, free the energy flow to the corresponding organ, thus enabling the organ to self-heal naturally.
