Terrible place with rude admin staff. doctors are actually ok but getting an a appointment is a lottery where you have to jump through hoops you feel like it's an obstical course to see a doctor

I've been registered at this surgery since I was a child (now 32) and once I started being old enough to make my own appointments I've gradually realised how bad this surgery is. You can't make a same day appointment unless it's an emergency and you must call after 8am for a morning appointment. Although you can rarely get through as the line is engaged and even when you do get through they tell you all the appointments have gone and you have to call back at 2pm for an afternoon appointment for the same thing to happen. Being told to make another appointment by your own doctors doesn't make things move any quicker. When I call and try to make an appointment to see my own doctor, usually the wait for an appointment is over a week away as she is fully booked. I once called and was told the next available appointment was 6 weeks away so I booked it anyway, only for the surgery to call me the day before the appointment and tell me my doctor was off sick so I'd be seeing the on call doctor! That was a waste of a 6 week wait. I once called up to book an appointment with my doctor and was told there was a 3 week wait. I gave up and called back 4 days later and booked an emergency appointment for that day. When I went in, the doctor I saw was my own doctor who I couldn't get a normal appointment with! Recently I was sent a letter by the surgery telling me to make an appointment for a check up so I called and was told there were no appointments and to call back a week later. This then happened again and again and it took me 3-4 weeks to get an appointment. The system and the way the bookings are run is completely ridiculous, not to mention the wait time in the surgery when you actually do manage to get an appointment. They have introduced an online booking system which I have tried to sign up to a few times only for the site to constantly freeze on me so I have given up with that. I am now looking for a new surgery to join as I've had enough. I am happy with my Dr (Dr Clayton) when I get to see her but that's the whole point... I never manage to get an appointment with her.

I have been registered at goldsworth park medical centre/york house since i was a young girl (now 28) and also my whole immediatw family have been registered here as long as i have (5 of us in total). A little while ago i phoned the surgery to change my address as id recently moved and they told me i had to fill out a form which they faxed me over i filled it in and faxed it back, thinking that was that. Then a few days later i received a letter in the post saykng that i could no longer be registered with them. I was under the impression that even if you have moved out of the area but still worked close by you could remain registered. So once i received this letter i phoned the surgery and asked to speak to the manager. He eventually came onto the phone and i explained what had happened and his response was 'life goes on so get on with yours'. I found this very rude and unprofessional and told him that. But hos response again was you ate being rude and inprofessional not me'. With that i hung up the phone fuming so i wrote a letter of complaint. I received a response but all it said was that he was sorry and nothing further would happen. I also found that the appointment system was a joke and that you could be seeiously ill and all they would say is no appointments call back at 2pm or at 8am. All receptionists were rude and unhelpful. Clearly unhappy in their jobs. Sknce all this has happened i have registered else where and they are so much more helpful and understanding.

Its now simply impossible to see a GP. My daughter had an allergic reaction today and simply no appointments. System is broken and understaffed.

This is a while back but tried to book an emergency appointment with reception and was told no emergency appointment spaces for the next 2 weeks, i decided to go to woking walk in centre as my problem was fairly urgent! I was diagnosed that day with testicular cancer.... Granted since this issue occured if i ever call and get through, they fit me in straight away for that day, but its a case of if they ever pick up the phones... Now i just call sunnymeed and they literally ask me when do you want an appointment? Crazy how one surgery can be so busy the other not, yet sunnymeed is in the centre of town so would think it would be busier...?
