Love this place, get it every time we go to Athlone. Their salt and chilli chips and salt and chilli tofu are the best I've tried and I've tried a lot portion sizes are huge too. The man who I think owns the place is really friendly always a smile on his face. Egg fried rice is lovely as well and the tofu noodle boxes. My only critique is they don't take card, cash only and the salt and chilli tofu isn't on Just Eat
Very disappointing as the crispy shredded chicken had no chicken in it & gooey not crispy. Lambs ribs were reheated & not fresh. Chips very dry & tasteless. Wont be ordering from here again
Absolutely unreal very friendly staff, extremely fast. So many options and very reasonably priced. Food was unreal definitely my new favourite takeaway in Athlone coming straight back here next time.
Wish I could give more than 5 stars! We’ve ordered food here a bunch of times and as were vegetarian we often request to replace meat with tofu in many of their dishes, which is never an issue. Today we ordered for friends that are staying with us that eat meat and the restraunt called just to make sure we didn’t make a mistake when ordering. So sweet of them to go out of their way to do something like that! I’m amazed!!
Order regularly enough from here, my go to takeaway. Never waiting too long for food, taste delicious. Staff and Delivery drivers are friendly. Can't fault it.
I have always loved the food here and considered this the best Chinese restaurant in Athlone since it opened. However in the last 6months the food has been apalling. I thought the first time it was a once off, second time I still gave benefit of the doubt, third, 4th,and so on until I decided to ring and explained. They didn't really bat an eyelid and I am not one for complaining and I do not like giving negative reviews but I would not go back after all these years. I ordered 4 items to share. The gyōza dumplings were rock hard and had been deep fried to a cinder, so the contents were like cardboard and broke, the outer dumpling was like a fortune cookie consistency and blackish/brown.The salt and chilli prawns were so salty they couldn't be eaten and lukewarm, the salad with them had brownish black lettuce with a slightly offensive smell. The chicken and sweetcorn soup was extremely sweet so much it was disposed off along with the dumplings. I rang and asked if the chef was new, or cooking methods have changed, recipes change etc no everything I was told was the same. It took me 6months of ordering food that was not edible to leave,I didn't want to leave because previously food was excellent!I would also say if someone genuine rings with a genuine complaint customer service needs to drastically improve. Also as far as I am aware Gyōza dumplings should never be deep fried only steamed or pan fried? I was told they were deep fried to speed up time, but you should not deep fried Gyōza. Pity but I won't be returning.
Ordered the 4 in 1 beef, which was very bland and tasteless, both the beef and curry had very little flavor. Although the chicken balls were good and the service was quick.
Ordered takeaway had be thrown in bin really disappointing the oil was dripping from chicken balls curry sauce was discusting food used to be fabulous but lately its waste of money i wouldn't recommend
No card machine. Place looks horrible no lights on outside to show you where it is. €4 for a 1.5l bottle.
Nice castle to visit, has nice garden. Well maintained. Has a small lake can take ice photographs.
