the delivery service from this take away is very poor and shockingly slow, well over an hour from phoning in and still not left the shop the food will be spoiled sitting that long this is a regular ocurance and I don't want food poisoning from rice that has been reheated and left standing around for hours in a lookwarm condition and sealed container
I use Golden Pond frequently. The food is always tasty and at a good standard. The portion sizes are generous and is priced fairly.
Not had golden pond for a couple years. It was the best around, it’s obviously changed hands recently as nothing on the order was remotely the same as before. Watery sauces overcooked flavourless. If anyone has any recommendations on a Chinese takeaway with a decent standard id be keen to know
My partner just placed an order for me. Then he was notified they had cancelled the order with no explanation given. That's nothing but rude. I used to order from there before & never ever had a problem with them. Ordering my Chinese elsewhere from now on. They've just lost perfectly good custom. Update: they have now just tried to claim via email from Just Eat that they tried to call my partner after cancelling the order. My partners phone isn't on silent & the tv isn't up loud, so we'd appreciate staff at the Golden Pond not lying, because if they had called, my partner would have answered his phone because he isn't rude like the staff who cancelled my order for nothing.
Have ordered from golden pond for many years, always good food arrives and usually within 30min, obviously a bit longer "1hr" at the moment but they are probably much busier with deliveries. Keep up the good work guys!!
Fantastic food Good selection Prices ok too
Just waited over 2 hours for delivery! To call up and be told they were waiting on delivery driver, some cop out, passing the blame onto them. Got offered a free bottle of juice LOL, so food just arrived and to say was luke warm is being generous! Not even a courtesy call to apologise or check all was ok and can’t get through to tell them to come back and get their food as it’s not edible! No doubt numerous complaints tonight! And no free bottle of juice, will never use here again.
Been ordering for over 15 years, and today we called up, and omg the guy who took the order was so abrasive talked right over me and has definitely got a attitude problem. Also charging me £9 for a chicken curry!!!! We order from here Almost every other week, and we always order the same stuff. He wanted to charge us prices out of this world. When I asked to speak to the manager, his reply was, they don't speak English!!! So how come we have spoke with them before then? He said it's my first day. He clearly doesn't have communication skills, and has definitely not got manners. That's not how to run a business. After spending thousands with them over the years. WE WONT BE ORDERING FROM GOLDEN POND AGAIN The new guy needs the sack!!!!!!
10 yrs loyal custom treated with basic theft! I've been a customer for over 10 years. The owners must have changed recently? 1 - they no longer recognise us on the phone. 2 - they never get our name right. 3 - the staff are different. 4 - the quality of the food has gone downhill. They say they haven't changed mgt but I can't believe that. Today I checked my order on the itemised bill only to make sure I was getting the right order because of points 1-3 above and noticed they charge for bags now. On a previous visit they charged me for using my card which also had never happened before. The bag charge was not really an issue until I noticed they'd charged me for 2 but only given me 1. It's not the money. It's the principle. You are plainly ripping off your customers and for the sake of 5p you've now lost my custom forever. It's theft! Your solution was to say the till automatically charged for 2 bags which is just farcical and then tried to offer me the 2nd bag that I clearly didn't need in the first place! Do you think your customers are stupid? Hope your failed tactics lose you your business. And I hope your other customers notice your pathetic scam! I won't return. Disgusting behaviour - you've definitely changed ownership because i just can't believe the ladies not girls I knew would tolerate that. You didn't even apologise. Pathetic.
Absolutely over the moon with my takeaway. It was delivered about 10mins before the time stated on the phone. I live about 20 mins away from the chinese and my food was still piping hot. I definatly recommend this Chinese to anyone who is looking for a fair price for delicious food. 5star easily. I got a golden box with some fried rice and banana fritter. Lovely. Must try 100%.
