Having visited many local restaurants across the UK, it surprises me that it was this Harvester, a chain restaurant, that felt the most welcoming and friendly of them all. The staff are just magnificent, and very friendly, and the food is top quality! I'm pleased to say that this particular restaurant ranks high on my list of favourite places, and they've got me as a repeat customer for years to come. In addition, they sell the only good BBQ sauce I've had in this country, as well as a Spiked Maple sauce which is just incredible in the kitchen. I don't know what I'll do if they ever stop selling it.
Nice and clean restaurant. Served by friendly staff. Salad bar fresh and fully stocked. Food was quick and well presented. Would definitely go again.
There was plenty of available Parking spaces. The restaurant was not particularly busy, and service was good. The self-service salad was very good. The rolls were fresh, but the butter in the packets had melted. The main courses were served at the appropriate time and was of the normal standard provided by Harvesters. The bill came promptly when requested and was correct.
Easily the best harvester I've ever been to! The staff are so nice and considerate, and the food is delicious. Will definitely come back again, and again.
Had a great time with the kids here. Food 4/5 was a little overdone from Salmon through to the Burger. Salad selection could be a little bigger. Reception 5/5 attentive and sorted car parking immediately. Service from Sophie was enthusiastic and attentive 5/5. Atmosphere 4/5, nicely decorated and decent lighting. The kids enjoyed it all and we would go back.
Waiter explained there were problems with only having one chef in, made it clear that service was very slow and gave us every chance to leave if we wanted. We weren't in a hurry and took our seats. As it turned out, food was very good although took a while but exactly as we expected. I heard the same clear message to others taking a seat who then made a horrific scene. Have to say, even though the waiting staff had made it extremely clear that service was below par today, they remained incredibly courteous, polite, took a lot of stick without any complaints. Have to say the staff were fabulous, the service may have been slow but we receive very good food and a service exactly as expected. No complaints from me and turned out to be a very relaxing and enjoyable evening with good food and service. Great place served by honest, hardworking staff.
Went for lunch. Beautiful old low beamed coach house. Quite big but very intimate feeling due to seating being in booths and small sections. Clean and tidy. Staff very friendly and helpful. No rushing. Free parking for clients. Food so very good. Definitely will be back. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian dishes on menu. Parking: Parking free for clients. Just pop your car registration in tablet on bar when you arrive.
We had a table for 2pm. My parents arrived 10 minutes early and were advised that as the two restaurants down the road were closed, they had accepted walk in that were seated where our large table 14 would be. They said don’t worry they’re on desserts, it will be no longer than 15 minutes. We finally sat down at 2.50pm. We’d had no updates, had to chase them ourselves and when finally seated we waited another 10 minutes before we had any service. I was disappointed to say the least. We were also told that the chicken skewers were not available even though there’s loads of other chicken on the menu. Apparently chicken skewers are ‘made from a different product’ . The managers response to my feedback was awful. She basically blamed the other restaurants being closed for their poor service and the business. It was NOT busy. Used to love this harvester but after that experience, we’ll go elsewhere
Very helpful waitress. As we did not want chips there was a limited choice. Menu said meal came with green beans but there was none. Waitress told us they were having problems getting beans. Would have been nice to have been told without having to ask which is why the overall rating is lower.Food: 4/5
Good meal and varied menu. We were meeting up for a Christmas family get together from around the country Staff very sociable especially the guy who served us, there was nothing too much for him. He well deserved a good tip. Shame part of our party had to spend the night in their car due to heavy snow. Spoiled what would have been a perfect day. However, we will revisit in the future.
